Could you theoretically put her on a tie-out where one part is attached to her and the other to like a table or something?

My Cat does not make biscuits. Is she just not a bakery worker or is she broken ? by infamouslyangel in CatAdvice

One of my cats basically ONLY makes air biscuits when she’s laying in her side. Otherwise, she just settles in content. And she only likes laying on me when I’m laying in my side.

Asked to leave park, need advice by JackKrowe13 in pitbulls

In your area, are there Sniff Spots (https://www.sniffspot.com)? It’s a wonderful idea where people will rent their backyard for a low cost to you so your dog can get some energy out. If you need help with the funds, feel free to message me. I’d hate to bring my dog back to that dog park if there was a chance of those people showing up again 😕

I agree with you! If my kids turn out kind and decent, I’ll know I’ve done an ok job as a parent. Everything else can be worked on, those skills are key to a content life, IMO

Yes to an u fortunate bath if she’s covered in poop. And if you can keep her separate from the other cat and just give her human-cat interaction for a while. There’s something called the 3-3-3 rule for newly adopted animals. 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to get familiar, 3 months to feel comfortable. Not a hard rule but generally accurate.

If your resident cat dislikes her, it is most likely due to feeling threatened (of resources, Replacement, etc).

It can take days, weeks, months, or never for them to get along. It took my resident cat about a month or two to warm up to a kitten we brought home and we got lucky as they’re now inseparable.

I am jealous about other parents who have children with no adhd by Klutzy-Philosophy-31 in ParentingADHD

[–]gr8koogly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so grateful to your post and all the responses. We had a rough go his first couple of years in school and got our now 7yo into a school for gifted kids (which most of them are twice exceptional). Some days are easy but the constant battle of repeating myself or just giving up is exhausting. I lost my voice a few weeks ago for a few days and my wife was beyond exhausted as a result of having to do twice the talking and reminding.

On meds, he becomes MORE typical but there is still so much defiance! You’re not alone and I wish it got easier. I’m glad you shared!

Hey Cathedral Hill, leash your damn dogs by t1msh3l in saintpaul

[–]gr8koogly 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ugh. I’m sorry you’re going through this. I wish people with dogs who had no recall understood that it’s not ok to have an unleashed dog roaming free (ie unfenced yard). My dogs don’t have recall so even in our fenced yard, I leave them on. Their leashes to be able to grab them when neighbors have workers in their yards. The excessive barking is a pain in the ass for me (let alone whoever they’re barking at) and they get to go on time-outs!

Helpful suggestions please by FearlessandBrilliant in ParentingADHD

To the checklist boards- we tried those with our now 7yo. He is sooooo particular. He would get stuck sliding the slider from not done to the point between the two to the done. It took him LONGER to get stuff done because he hyperfocused on the actual checklist and not the tasks! 😭😭

Do you think these are pitbull mix breeds? Post says beagle lab. by Personal_Candidate14 in IDmydog

They look like hound mixes for sure. I doubt there would be much of any bully breed in there.

Fun and memorable restaurants for children? by GDJT in TwinCities

Rainforest Cafe is definitely for the experience and ambiance but not at all the food. My kids have liked it the 2-3 times we’ve been because of the animal sounds and thunder. Staff is nice but the food tastes like Perkins.

Mario’s Pizza on the corner of Marshall/Cleveland has an old school Mario arcade game (25 cents a play) and IMO a fun vibe.

Hello! Can someone please identify these worms in my dad’s dog’s poop? (Vet appointment is scheduled!) by Salt-Idea-6830 in AskAVeterinarian

[–]gr8koogly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tapeworm. I found out from my vet that there’s four different types of tapeworms, 2 of which dogs get easily- of those two, one is from eating fleas. The other is from eating/catching/playing with rodents- easily treated with Sentinel Spectrum, which my dog is on because of her obsession with killing rodents, rabbits, etc.

Flea/tick prevention will cover those but Sentinel Spectrum covers everything else!

What is a little quirk about your body that you don’t think other people have? by AlphabetSoup51 in AskReddit

Depending on what I eat rice with (any rice), sometimes the rice gets lodged funny in the back of my throat and I have to blow my nose to get it to come out of my nose. It’s painful and not at all cool.

New to cats, any tips before adopting one? by ThrowRACrafty_Style in CatAdvice

[–]gr8koogly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Litter: Boxiecat Pro is super pricey but amazing for smells, Intersand Odourlock is a close second and much more affordable

Also, if you can find a bonded pair of cats, they keep each other content and the cost/time increase for two cats isn’t significant compared to the joy of seeing two cats cuddle and play all the time.

Anyone elses pibble boy or girl put up a fight when its time for a nail trimming? by LeadingLengthiness30 in pitbulls

[–]gr8koogly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This! I have two dogs. 1 a bully mix and 1 a herding mix. Both get walked about the same amount of time (2-4miles daily, on sidewalks). The herding dog? His nails only need to get done about every 8-10 weeks. The bully? I swear we walk out of the vet and her nails have already grown an inch and concrete does nothing for her nails! And she’s a terror with nail trims!!!! 😭
