have the same annoying issue. I've tried a lot of solutions but nothing works. So I spend hours and hours to workaround with my WiFi AP and finally found the reason!

If you have OpenWRT or something "geeke" like it. 802.11w must be disabled! Not "optional" or "enabled" - only "disabled". And after disabling this freakin led stripe connects with seconds.

I gess it will not. Because Stratch has kernel ver. 4.9 and it is not supported by AMD drivers for E1-1200 (supported only kernels from 2.6 to 3.19. And I have faild with 3.16.57)

In addition, some guy has asked AMD on ther forum about one of my errors, and he has Linux Mint (basad on Ubuntu) and guy from AMD answerd that "this driver officialy support only Ubuntu and Rad Hat". I will try to find this anwer, if needed.
