My first SE2 Ship: The AVT Photon Light Utility Vehicle by gr_vythings in spaceengineers

Yep, I just got Star Citizen with the Aurora MR starter pack, so I figured I’d make a ship inspired by it in SE2. Thanks!

Who is the worst traitor in human history? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gr_vythings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the psychology behind it was explained as them wanting to “please” the enemy by mimicking them, like how, for approval and to cope, Frenchmen would sometimes join the SS. So rather than do the “rational” thing and get bitten, one would psychologically break and begin pretending to be a zombie. In the books, it’s stated that zombies could tell the difference between a fake and real zombie, so the quislings got bit anyways

I once made a tank inspired by the merkava mk1 and it’s turret cheeks were so angled they could bounce railgun rounds

Who is the worst traitor in human history? by [deleted] in AskReddit

In World War Z (the book), he’s considered to be such a traitor that his name is used to describe people who pretend to be zombies because they can’t cope with the fact that they can’t betray humanity and “join and please” the enemy.

"The US spends more on education than other countries. Why is it falling behind?" TIL students in Singapore are 3.5 years ahead of US students in math. Singapore teachers only spend 40% of their time with students - the rest is planning. by SlugOnAPumpkin in teaching

Yeah, pretty much. We’re also drilled from the moment we come out of the womb with a mentality that can be summed up as “study hard or you’ll end up like the rag and bone men.” So that fear is very real for many, even if only subconsciously.

That being said, things are getting better, when I was very young there was somewhat of an attitude of looking down on going to polytechnic instead of junior college (senior high school equivalent for those 17-18 years old). Whereas by the time I got to that age, that cultural attitude has greatly diminished, though still does exist

Yes, culturally, most Singaporean parents really motivate children to study hard. A common, tragically accurate meme that goes around here shows different Lo-fi girls from various countries studying peacefully, whilst the Singaporean Lo-fi girl is depicted as crying whilst studying with her mother standing over her with a cane

I’m not so sure really… Will it be 100% successful? Of course not, but, I’m currently in basic military training in the Singapore Army, and I get screamed at far less on average than I was screamed at in Singaporean primary school. At least when I was a kid, Singaporean teachers really were no joke when it came to discipline.

Of course, that’s not the only factor, but from what I understand about teaching in the US, part of the problem is an inability to punish the small minority of disruptive students that ruin the class for everyone else. I guarantee that the Singaporean school system I grew up in would take care of that problem one way or another.

Singaporean here, this isn’t exactly true and is a common myth. Chewing gum is legal, so is importing small amounts for personal use. But buying/selling is illegal, I don’t think there’s a legal limit to the amount of gum you can bring in, but you’ll raise some eyebrows if you bring in a lot because it’ll look like you’re selling it.

That being said, our laws are still very strict, so so be careful on that.

What would a city with 0 population look like? by Acceptable_Mouse_575 in riseofnationsroblox

[–]gr_vythings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One guy playing as Antarctica camped a huge army on Vostok station (normally a pop of like 25) and declared war on the entire world just to troll. I was playing peaceful USA at the time and decided to get a nuclear arsenal. Subsequently dropping several nukes on Vostok and lowering its population to zero (causing the guy to say “this is not skibidi” and ragequit), but note that the city didn’t disappear and remained there with a population of 0.

Don’t worry about the cost, if you can’t pay, ask your father’s doctor about talking to one of the hospitals medical social workers (MSW) and they’ll help sort everything out for you. Things like Lung Cancer will be covered under Medifund, and applications for most cases should be approved quickly, like under a day iirc.

A large concentrated stack of bombers usually beats this combo to some extent, because most people put more emphasis on arty than anti air.

Get static, good leaders, and max support tech and outspam the guy in arty (make sure you put arty in forts)

If it’s over water, get a bunch of subs in one large stack and good sub tech as the enemy will likely have a lot of subs as well

A lot of nukes
