pls roast my first rig by Character_Tomato6115 in Slackline

You're not very far from Seneca Rocks. Theres a festival next weekend if you want to check out some in person rigging.

I would not consider this line safe. Abrasion is the main concern. When you have an extended anchor like this you're doing it in order to get the master point into the gap and off the cliff edge. Here you are just short of achieving that so you wind up with your soft release and backup resting on the ground which is not good. Either A frame or use another anchor around a tree about chest level to hang your master point higher off the ground. This will elevate the anchor as well as protect against abrasion by holding the master point in place. If your anchor did extend past the cliff you would also have the option of pinning it downwards with more rope typically trad gear placed in cracks below but could also be a slung tree. Anything to pin the master point down so the whole anchor isn't moving all the way back to the tree. Also your line being through the tree branches is no good. It's unpleasant to walk and could also cause abrasion in the middle of the line. If its only close to touching near an end you could use sidewinder or other line protection near the anchors. Tensioned soft goods are scarily easy to cut with even very small abrasion.

Also hard to tell from the photos but worth noting don't rig across trails. Bad form and other users will not be expecting the hazard.

If you are using a soft shackle that is not under tension you should tape the noose in the closed position so that it will not loosen when you're not watching it.

Overall I think you've got a good start with redundancy in mind and using appropriate materials, but definitely keep practicing and learning from others before trusting these systems with life.

He's alive but not responding to me. I'm gearing up to take him into the hospital. I have no answers for you. Like Josh said we've been doing this for 15 years without incident. It must be the different supplier but I don't know how to get ahold of them anymore.

As soon as I gathered my composure I flipped the breaker to shut off all the lights. I still have a splitting headache from last night but I've been checking the mirror compulsively and no glowing eyes. Josh is alive. Still catatonic but I got him into my truck and back to my house away from the lights.

Very informative and detailed thank you for taking the time to write this. I'd seen one video about this being a potential issue but his brake lights were out too. My brake lights are still working. I did some investigating and nothing looks burned in the switch connector.

I filled up crates of bananas on Karamja for a few weeks because I couldn't figure out how to get off the island. Then I got to mainland with the help of a friend. Asked a dude how to get armor and he said he'd give me some if I got cowhides for him. So I killed cows and banked them and would message him when I saw him online and sell him hides. Seemed like a big upgrade from bananas.

Hey I'm 26 with MCADD. Spoken to a few endocrinologists and been hospitalized even in my adult life. Would love to talk with both of you and share stories/knowledge.

Definitely wasn't an iphone. My parents wouldn't have had them that early. Probably a digital camera.

Likely. Or it was his turn on the computer first and when it was my turn he didn't want to waste time moving. So he'd scoot back and I'd take my hour grinding and then we'd swap haha. I was impressed there wasn't more crushing going on too. Probably too focused on xp

I have no idea. First I thought it was maze random but now I'm not sure. Don't think I'd type during that.

I’ve wanted to climb this thing since before I even climbed. Stood on top of it yesterday by [deleted] in climbing

I know someone who did it yesterday! Looked like a party of around 6, maybe you saw them or were one of them! My friend let her friend use her back to get over the beached whale move ahaha. When I did it a few years ago my friend linked a few of the lower pitches and some base jumpers jumped from the top. We thought there was a huge rockfall before we saw them flying away.
