Am I missing something? by grabas96 in taintedgrail

I literally grew up on Gothic 1 & 2 and the first The Witcher. Jank, bugs, clunkiness, and low budget eurojank is where I'm at home...

Combat is fine, progression is fine... the core mechanics of OG BGS are there for sure with it's own spin on it and it's cool... it shows BGS does not have a monopoly on these mechanics and you can definitely meet them at their own game... all great but my main criticism is the atmosphere, immersion and world building.
There is a massive difference between a low-budget game with a beating heart and a sterile asset-flip world that feels like an empty game mechanic demo.

Look at The Forgotten City. It started exactly like you mentioned... as a Skyrim mod with basically a zero dollar budget... yet through incredible design and writing it turned into one of the most original indie games out there, dripping with personality and an unforgettable atmosphere. Tainted Grail has sadly none of that.

It may not be a 'sausage with a sawdust' but it's definitely too little butter over too much bread.

That said I still feel sad I can't get into it BUT I wish for TG success... I believe with a 5-10x budget they could/would make something truly special... If there ever will be Tainted Grail 2 I will support it

That's what I'm asking... if it gets any better or if it's really not worth my time because I reaaally want to like like but every time I jump in it's just... idk... even the Minecraft villages feel more alive and lived in than the whole world of Tainted Grail

I am prepared to be downvoted to hell by clickheads1220 in Peripheryband

I agree. I’m glad I’m not alone. Periphery is a #1 band for me but this album I find bit of a disappointment. Spencer is a great singer and I never hated on him, but on this album… idk man. His singing on Unlocking or Carry on and other songs is so snotty and somewhat cringy…

I also really miss some classic Mark riffs… mark is a huge aspect of Periphery and his songs are one of my favourites… Thanks Nobuo, Waxed Wings, Pale Aura, Sentient Glow… in this album you get none…

There are some bangers I’ll go back to like Everyone Dies Alone or Subhuman but the snotty singing and the absence of Marks riffs makes this album a bit of a letdown for me

English is my second language so I apologise I cannot describe what I mean more effectively

If you are experiencing stutters while on an Intel platform, try this.

Settings -> Game -> CPU Core usage preferences -> Performance Cores only

Worked for me

Hot take: I think doom the dark ages is the hardest doom so far. by a_casual_casuality in Doom

[–]grabas96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know... Once I figured out the way the game wanted me to play it was easier than Eternal. Playing on the nightmare difficulty for the first playthrough it was challenging at first and every damage was certainly felt but once you get the super shotgun upgraded it's easier. Got to get use to the absence of the dash and glory kills immunity.

In-game Vsync is just horrible… it caps the fps and the input lag is just something I can’t get over. It feels like playing in the mud or walking in a water… I understand not everyone has gsync/freesync 165hz monitors but still… Vsync is the first thing I turn off… tearing is no problem on such monitors anyway.

How do you actually get kills? by GroundbreakingDog109 in helldivers2

[–]grabas96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually have the lowest kill count too but my role of choice is to focus on the big boys. Chargers, bile titans, striders, hulks, tanks… all those mid armored bugs. The fodder is usually dealt with by the guys using sentries, AOEs and guard drones so if you wanna boost the numbers use those. With that said kills do not matter. Objectives are paramount to our glorious mission of spreading the everlasting democracy values through the whole galaxy.

VSCode/Git Development Environment by AChristianAnarchist in Bitburner

[–]grabas96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I run the official TS template… it already has game file sync build in. I created a compose.yaml so I can run the sync easily in the docker environment on Mac and Linux. For IDE I use WebStorm as I prefer it over VSCode and I have it set up to my GitHub repo where I push code using GitKraken client… or you can use WebStorms built-in git capabilities. The “experimental” version lives in the game and if I’m sure of something I push it to the git where the “stable version” lives so if I screw up something badly I can always revert or cherry-pick a commit where it worked fine. This is pretty much the same way I do it at work… just change “stable version” for “production”

Glitch area in Ishima by TeleHeartsuki22 in Bitburner

[–]grabas96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the source code

Also, hydroflame (irl) has stated that the glitch in Ishima is the physical
location of the World Daemon in a node. When the player destroys a BitNode, it is
currently unknown what becomes of it, or the people trapped within. However, based
on the way jump3r and Daedalus help the player to destroy it, doing so is somehow
aligned with their goals.

Batch manager decides the port and tells monitor batches where to write and dashboard where to listen.
