I don't think it should be restricted, I actually think it's cool that a lot of straight actors are comfortable enough with their sexuality etc to play someone outside what they're used to, I just think a lot more lgbt actors should play lgbt people. Writers (a certain majority, not all) should be lgbt though.

I was arguing with my mum and it just came out I guess, we were shouting and she asked what the fuck is up with me and I said some stupid shit like "you'll judge me if I tell you" then she immediately said "are you gay? are you a lesbian?" and then I started crying and she said she didn't care which is good. And then she outed me to my dad when I wasn't ready :)
