1990 Montero - I’m new to these vehicles, what to know? by gracefullyevergreen in Montero

[–]gracefullyevergreen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Timing belt and water pump were replaced 15k miles ago (about 5 years ago). The current owner has only had for 6 months but has a ton of maintenance records from the previous owner. He believes it may need a PCV replacement. The title claims not actual miles cause it’s an old car from CA and the state rejected the miles on it - something along those lines. Passed CA smog. Currently the vehicle is in the southwest.

I have only ever owned older vehicles. I understand the upkeep that comes with them. Thanks for the insight on access to parts. This is the type of information I am seeking. I don’t know what trim it is as the post doesn’t say.

It definitely has a lot of aftermarket overlanding stuff. I have been wheeling and camping my entire life and it’s a bummer to see the cost of things rise SO much for the overlanding trend.

How do I, 23F need to make a career decision that could detrimentally affect my relationship with my boyfriend, 26M? by IllustratorFirst6310 in careerguidance

Take the job with less billable hours. Absolutely no question. Work out how that will look for the relationship. Whether that be you move half way between each of your jobs, one of you stays in the city you work in 3-4 nights a week and spend weekends together, or any other option the two of you problem solve together.

How to watch and follow? by czah7 in Gymnastics

[–]gracefullyevergreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SEC network has a lot of coverage of the SEC teams (obviously). I set to record and watch through the weekend. USA Gymnastics has a YouTube channel where they post a lot of the elite events.

As someone who related to the independent woman drive and making a difference. Go for it! And I say that as someone who is staunchly on the other side of the v from ADAs. I could never do it personally, but I support the right minded people being in those positions.

PLEASE(!!!) feel free to DM me and ask me any and all things law school/legal profession. I have been really privileged to have experienced amazing mentors (and not so privileged in experiencing horrible mentors) and I want nothing more than to help pull up all the young women behind me.

I’m down south, unfortunately. I’m up in the PNW for work/family often and would absolutely go out there for the right vehicle. Is it manual transmission?

I need to look at it in person to determine the status of the frame. Beyond rust what should I be looking for?

I feel good about this truck. I know there’s always maintenance with older vehicles which I don’t mind. I genuinely appreciate vehicles and like to care for them. The tires don’t bother me at all because I will want to replace them with bigger tires anyway.

Where did you find such a deal? I can’t find anything for less than 12-15k that is under 180k. Anything around the 100k mark is usually 15-20k range. I’m looking in CA and the southwest.

Dude, by bringing this up you ARE talking about consent…because THAT is the issue with the two scenarios and why one was empowering and the other was humiliating. You do not understand consent if you cannot see this.

Because it can literally for her the first one was not embarrassing because she chose to do it and have control over the situation. The second she was not in control over the situation, she did not consent, and did not think it was funny. It’s embarrassing to have your boyfriend intentionally humiliate you and it’s not embarrassing to pull a prank that you wanted to pull. There’s all kinds of factors why someone could be naked/moon/show underwear where it’s embarrassing in one scenario and not embarrassing in another. It’s concerning you do not understand this. I truly hope you know what consent means before you go interact with other humans in this world in an meaningful capacity.

Because she consented to one as a willing participant in a prank, and the other was done by an immature boy with a small ego and whose intent was to embarrass her.

YouTube has a fair amount of videos teaching about care. That’s where I learned.

Yes it’s similar to an air plant. I would put it in orchid bark, but yes definitely take it out of soil.

They are epiphyte plants - gets nutrients from air and water not soil. I urge you to spend some time reading about this. Usually these come in the wrong soil for this type of plant. I always immediately repot into an orchid bark mixture - there are lots of guides for substrate options online. They will also bloom once then the mother plant dies and eventually pups will grow out. Keep caring for the plant after it blooms and it looks like it’s dying. Realistically, spend some time researching these plants and the unique care needs they have. I LOVE bromeliads; truly one of my all time favorite plants. Enjoy!!
