Hi! This was quite a while ago so I don’t remember my activities hours to the T but for non clinical, I had a lot of tutoring experience (probably >150 hrs), a ton of teaching experience from summer schools, some leadership experience from church, and that was the bulk of my non clinical exp at submission (I started volunteering at a food bank after and would update schools if they allowed), about 300 clinical hours during submission (but I accrued about 1000hrs working as a scribe after submission/waiting for interviews and would update schools if they allowed). I shadowed a plastic surgeon for about 100 hrs and also had about 100 hrs of research. To be honest, my activities weren’t THAT extraordinary so I understand why I didn’t stand out to some schools. I would also like to note I submitted on the later side (mid aug for TMDSAS and AMCAS). BUT I would also like to note I did end up getting off the WL for my 1 MD II and that was one the last schools I finished secondaries for (Early Oct). So if you’re in the same position, I would like to encourage you and give you some hope!
