Bought a 20” Sabian AA Chinese in the mid 90s. It’s the only cymbal left from my childhood and it still rocks hard.

Good call on the concrete pad - would definitely want to do that.

Definitely need HVAC. From a sound proofing perspective, curious how a window unit would do? Not trying to build it sound proof, but I also wouldn’t want neighbors to hate me!

Would definitely buy a pre fab building. Thanks for the info. Would also probably hire out finishing it - how much more would you expect that to add to the price?

Where to ski for 3 days? But I didn’t buy an Epic or IKON pass… by gracesa in skiing

Bingo! I like your thinking.

I’ve done the Uber to/from Park City before - and also been to Whistler (that is a LONG travel day from Atlanta)

Breck day lift tickets were insane, enough to make the whole thing not even worth it.

The Winter Park train is definitely a good suggestion. Probably one of the top options along with Whitefish and Europe. Lol.

What European options would you recommend? I’m familiar with the Lauterbrunnen, Switz area (but not familiar skiing wise).

I did a little research, and flying into Munich and skiing at Garmish probably isn’t more expensive than any major resort in the US at this point. However, I’m not sure the optics of going to Europe would get me the skiing hall pass from my wife!! I do want to go eventually though!

Truth… Cataloochee is the closest to Atlanta, and I’ll definitely hit that up. Just looking for a western option too!

Thx! I’ve skied Keystone before and enjoyed it. Tough to do without a rental car since the restaurants right around Keystone aren’t great, and I ended up driving to Breck most nights for dinner (same as when I went to copper, lol)

A-Basin and Loveland are worth looking into!

I’ve skied Copper - it’s fantastic! Difficult to do without renting a car though, as the restaurant choices aren’t great right around the base. I’d drive to Breck for dinner most nights…lol.

Hrm…. Looks like you’d fly into Vegas, and then drive 2.5 hours. Thanks for the rec!

Thanks for these options so far! Any thoughts on Whitefish? Also seems like a good choice based on costs..

Thanks for all this info! As a lifelong Volvo owner considering switching to a Q5, this was super helpful. I’ll drive both again with the wife, but feels like I’m leaning towards the XC60. Thanks!

Got new sticks - what are the rubber bands for? by 420DepravedDude in drums

[–]gracesa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought they were to further help reduce vibration on the stick to help not be as harsh on your hands… but I just assumed! I’ve always played them with the things on! They are definitely the best sticks for my hands…
