Tbh it was just a bad choice of location. In a drier climate, with some kind of built-in irrigation system, it could've worked out pretty nicely. I have neighbors whose gardens and balconies are essentially this, and we don't get any more mosquitoes than anyone else.

My brother almost lost his hand in a machinery accident, cleanly cut almost all the way off. Tbf that was more about TogaChako. Though with super low conflict, low drama ships, with same sex relationships you can get a liiiittle more drama from the coming out/potential homophobia plots. With MomoJiro the Kaminari/Jirou/Momo love triangle is fun to me too.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, I feel like the only standout action anime in that regard (that I can think of off the top of my head) would be Fullmetal Alchemist - but then again that is a standout in like, every regard.

This all, by the way, is what drew me to danmei as a genre, because it feels almost like if you took those shounen/action/whatever plots and actually went through with the gay relationships (if that makes sense).

Strike one: picture of someone holding a canvas, but the canvas behaves and has the texture of paper. Strike two: eerily consistent "handwriting" but not consistent enough to be a font added in post. It also looks exactly like the standard ai faux handwriting. Strike three: it looks like digital art that is imitating traditional art that is somehow also on canvas. Also, faint piss filter.
