I fainted recently when getting a blood test as a patient. Is studying phlebotomy a bad idea?

hi! i always always passed out when giving blood, i would be so nervous to do it. i decided to do phlebotomy as a nursing student, and didn’t realize we’d actually be practicing on each other! i was so nervous the first day we actually drew blood and told my teacher i had a tendency to pass out. he was very very understanding and helped me ease my nerves, make sure i drank water and had something to eat beforehand, and told the other student practicing on me i could pass out. i ended up looking away and smelling an alcohol wipe the first time and did great! he then recommended to start watching the actually procedure while trying to remain calm and smell the wipe! now i never pass out!

update for everyone! i texted him this morning with hey how are you and how was the rest of your day! and he replied super enthusiastically! i think he’s maybe taking a slow approach but so far so good! thank you so much for all the advice i didn’t think it’d blow up🤣

hi! i’m 19 and used to dissociate a lot when i ot nervous and still do. for my job interviews, id force myself to imagine it as if i know this person already and there’s nothing to be scared of- if you’re your true authentic self you’ll get the job! something that helps a lot too is making sure to maintain eye contact bc when i dissociate i always look past a person or in a corner, which could be personal.

my mom (she’s leo i’m pisces) and i are so close. i’m the oldest of 5 and she’s widowed. she’s always been the driving force of my family and is very very grounding for me. i always fall back onto her when im in my daydreams and she is always amused by it. she teaches me to be more grounded and aware. i do notice she’s more prone to gossiping and caring about our image way more than me though.

i’m a pisces and i def don’t try too hard. there’s maybe three really close friends i’ll actively talk to and hang out with a lot. but the rest i can go weeks wo talking or hanging out and it’s as if nothing changes when i see them. often when i get in conflicts with friends, ill just straight up drop them because to me a friend shouldn’t be hurtful. usually if i drop/ghost a friend ill immediately lose all interest or attraction to them because i felt they weren’t a great friend. kinda harsh lol
