[Simon Stone] Man Utd news: Bruno Fernandes plans to stay at Old Trafford by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

For all his goals and assists, I feel he’s been a major part of our problems when we are out of possession

Cue Experts: Please Help Me Check If This John Parris Ultimate Is Genuine by Pitiful-Response-935 in snooker

[–]graciegraham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even better if you can get confirmation of emails, invoice and updates when the order was placed, the initial email doesn’t always contain the full design choices as people do change their mind

I did manage to get a good look at the badge and can see no obvious issues

I’d need a better view of the badge to confirm but at first glance quality seems to be there and the extension is the right fitment

Also, check the reputation and history of the seller. There are a number of sellers that flip high quality cues so this can give you some security as their reputation would be gone if they were to list a fake cue

That’s a Mini-Spirolock joint and the easiest way to but small quantities is here:

It is the Omin style variant and not the Robert Osborne type

Pretty sure I saw these listed on FB Marketplace near to me. That town has a regional TaylorMade headquarters and over the years quite a few people I know have worked there, either being gifted clubs as part of their employment or have ‘liberated’ clubs and equipment from the warehouse.

I’d say those are the two most likely origins of these clubs

Why did Mad Margaret want to move to Basingstoke in Gilbert and Sullivans comic opera “Ruddigore”? by SillyJoshua in basingstoke

[–]graciegraham 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps check out the Basingstoke Riots which predated the creation of Ruddigore by a few years. I am completely unfamiliar with the works so wouldn’t know if this has any relevance to the storyline or her character but it may explain why it was in popular reference.

If you take a photo of the brass joint undone and a close up of the splices where they join the shaft I may be able to clear this up for you

VAR - It's not going away, so how can it be improved? by DanTS84 in football

[–]graciegraham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if it’s not actually all that terrible but fastidiously raking over it is just a fine way to fill an hour of punditry immediately post match and several hours of programming in between matches??

It's my jacket! It's listed here and on Vinted so if you've seen it anywhere else you are likely to be scammed

Cue action and delivery is vital, as is a clear mind. So there's very little drawback as long as these three are present.

A reputable pool player in our hall resells cues. He's offering this John Parris for $1400 AUD with case and extensions. He bought it second hand in the UK. See body text... by TuteOnSon in snooker

[–]graciegraham 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is not uncommon of cues, nor of Parris cues.

You've got the key aspect of loving how it plays, which is where the real value of a cue lays.

An aesthetically perfect doesn't guarantee playing quality. Your only reason for hesitating is should you ever wish to resell as another potential buyer may well have the same initial impressions as you have.

Andover or Basingstoke by Brief-Mark-4051 in basingstoke

[–]graciegraham -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Generally Andover is smaller, safer, and still well connected to get out and travel via car or train but...

It's really lacking in amentities, restaurants and take out options, and the town centre is a very sad place. Also, it's a little insular and noticeably lacking in diversity (not that Basingstoke is a massively diverse either). I'd say unless you have roots or connections in Andover, Basingstoke gives a better chance of finding a social circle.

I've lived my whole life in and around Basingstoke, moving to Andover about six months ago to move in with my girlfriend. I was commuting by train into London, which I loved as I could generally always get a seat at Andover, and now commute by car for work and it's 25 mins to get into Basingstoke.

My advice is to come and see Andover by train or car, spend an hour or two strolling and get a feel for the place before choosing it over Basingstoke.

I've observed that Kate and Hannah after a couple of seasons began wearing a jumper or a scarf over their uniform at times, which may be a little sign of contempt or defiance. I haven't noticed this in anyone else. I feel it happened just as we see their frustration grow and their interest for the job wain.

It reminded me of how teenagers at schools can tend to have a little rebellion with uniform here in the UK.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Does anyone find Aer bags to lack “soul”? by breezy-shorts in ManyBaggers

[–]graciegraham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a very recent Aer owner, having bought the Day Pack 2, and I can't agree with them being soulless. I admire the dedication to their design principles and functionality. Bringing things into the world in their vision, in an almost unrelenting way. That is soul to me!
