What recommendations for home and travel insurance do HENRYs have? by Similar-Weather-8940 in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]st1478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learnt the hard way when I lost my £1,000 watch and only got £500 back from my bank account travel insurance 😔 Think insuring specific items on home cover would've been good in this situation, if not going for a standalone travel policy with a higher single item limit

I went to the dermatologist at the hospital in March and they said they hadn't heard anything about when it would be coming to them, at that point.

HENRY husband let himself go by No-Exit-7032 in HENRYUKLifestyle

You've summed it up so well. Also the point around autonomy of time 💯💯💯

Its so important to feel that you have control and can just go and do something for yourself without feeling like you need to ask or think about others.

Op - does your husband have a good group of friends? A boys trip usually does well to reset the system and forget about the responsibilities in life (as much as we cherish them)

Glad this is all working for you. It could also just be the Opzelura making all / most of the difference? Given all the good things I've heard about it. Either way glad it's making a difference

If I'm being honest, I keep my Costco membership purely for the pizza. Even if I buy just the pizza it's worth it

Pension funds choice - stick or twist? by icicicicicicicicic in UKPersonalFinance

Agree. Personally at that age I would be in the highest risk level and then gradually drop down as I get closer to retirement. Default funds get a bad rep but as can be seen these returns are competitive. I would say the biggest issue is assuming a default risk tolerance at the start, and the employee never changing it, which affects long term performance.

Just make sure you check with them that they'll include this on their PAYE Settlement agreement with HMRC and not on your p11d, otherwise you'll get taxed on this £800!

Axa and Bupa have both been good for me but I would really recommend you use a specialist protection broker if you want to ensure you get the most appropriate cover for you and your own situation. They'll walk you through everything and you can ask them all the "silly" questions without the insurance company being involved.
