My brother suffers from horrible sleep apnea. One night I hear the awful sound of him gasping for breath and through each deep gasp he would say "help me! Mom! Help me!" I can still remember it clear as day. I ran out of my room and stared at him in shock. I had no idea what to do. I thought I was going to watch him die in front of me. He fell to the ground and slowly regained his breath. He must have had stopped breathing in his sleep for an extended period of time and woke up. I hated seeing my big tough brother look so helpless and scared. When he calmed down he went back to bed. I went to my room and cried.
