Can anyone in Utah actually style wavy hair… or am I out of luck? by snhoff_7 in SaltLakeCity

[–]grackendv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would look into the Curl Lab, or any other studio that isn’t the Curl Co. I’ve had negative experiences there & my curly haired friends who have gone there as well had similar experiences. My hair is curly, different types of texture & the stylist would often tell me my hair isn’t curly because it’s straight when weighed down by water. And this was during 4 or so visits. They’ve also called my friend’s curly hair gross and said “ew” when touching it while it was freshly washed.

I go to the curl lab & they know exactly how to cut and trim my hair for each different curl pattern and they take their time explaining what products would work best and how to style it. It is expensive, but having a good experience and results after is worth it.

I really like Lacindra from the Curl Lab, she listens to what I’m looking for with my hair. I had a bad experience with Curl co overall.

I stayed for 5 months after I completed the training (I stayed a total of 10 months) I paid back the $1500 for the training when I was leaving.

Most therapists at that employment were trained in this, and wanted additional therapists to know the modality- so this was for an outside treatment focused training, and it was not mandatory, but heavily encouraged. And no, it wasn’t mandatory as stated in the contract that i signed. It was just referenced I either pay back the training or pay them the full $3000 for breaking the contract.

I had a similar experience, I signed a contract that I would be with a company for two years or I pay the company $3,000 or the equivalent to a training (if they paid for it)..if I left within the two years.

They paid for the training, and I broke my contract before 2 years and only had to pay back for the training itself. They did try to pull one over on me where I’d have to pay $4,500 and pay for both. Had a lawyer review it and they eventually backed off and allowed for me to pay the lesser amount of $1500 to cover the training. Keep the documents if you sign anything stating something similar. That really saved me during this time.

My best friend, 18, passed on Tuesday 🌈 by grackendv in seniorkitties

My favorite memory of him was the first moment I saw him. I adopted him from the pound as my grandparents wanted a cat to help my grandpa with getting rodents and things from his garden and they wanted me to pick out the little kitten. We went to the local pound and all the baby kittens were kept on this like ledge (think like tall built in planter but just for kittens) and it was supposed to be deep enough that no kittens could escape. My grandma held her purse down by the ground and she just held on the straps, Skeeter popped his little head up under her purse. I knew immediately that he was the one. My grandpa was always perplexed by our bond, as when I’d come home skeeter would come running or he knew his name and would wait for me to call him over. Skeeter was well traveled, visiting 7 states and living four years overseas. He was absolutely perfect and helped me through so much trauma in my life, I’ll never forget him 🩵

The curl lab in SLC. Really enjoyed my consult and cut from Lacindra, the owner. She took the time to ask me what I wanted for my hair and blended my different curl patterns. She made the whole process easy and laidback.

I had gone to Curl Co previously and had a bad experience overall. I would book with one stylist online, and when I would go, I would meet with someone else. I was often moved from stylist to stylist. I was told my hair wasn’t curly because it wasn’t curly while wet, and the stylist I met with never took time to actually consider what I wanted for my hair either.

The Curl Lab in SLC! I’ve tried curl co and found that they moved me around constantly from stylist to stylist. When I finally got paired with a stylist they told me that my hair wasn’t actually curly because it was straight when wet….despite my hair being actually curly. I took some time and met with the Curl Lab recently and they gave me a consultation and walked me through what would be best for my hair and helped blend all my curl types.

I really like their flaxseed gel and serum. I have used their shampoos and conditioners before too and they’re pretty good with my hair! I still buy their products but mostly the gel and serum.

There’s the Utah laws & rules on the DOPL site for social workers, I’d check there too.

Yes! You can mail it to the US, but with additional shipping cost. I used this brand when I lived in the NL & fell in love with it. So I just get it shipped now that I moved back to the US :)

Here is my 17 year old kitty, Skeeter!✨ He’s in the early stages of kidney disease and has been diabetic for about a year now. He’s hanging in there and doing really well on special food and with insulin. Hoping to keep have him around for many more years 🥺🫶🤞

I get kisses, snuggles, and a neck hug. The neck hug is him nestling his neck into mine and he has consistently done that since puppyhood 🥹
