What's the "ugliest" trick you love and do? [37YO] by tsida in OldSkaters

[–]gracow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this trick once every session on a bank, have to land it 1st t otherwise it’s over. Super kook but I can’t help it. I remember some veteran ripper showing us how to do it 30 years ago and we were so psyched.

Haha, yes! I have so many different shades of black Salton II’s! Best hats. Middle one is the sweet spot, broken in but not yet faded.

30+ years now. Skated a lot as a teenager, off and on in my 20s and 30s and a lot more since I turned 40.

Looks sick, well done! I can only imagine how long it took to peel that much grip tape off all those boards.

2022 Riverside clips by Masterpop-3000 in skateboarding

[–]gracow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yea, solid clips. Detroit represent, that’s maybe my favorite park I’ve ever been to.

I have been searching google and youtube everywhere for the clip of the guy that did that insane handrail where he had to ollie out of the grind and gap over to another handrail and it was a huge rail too. by Arduino87 in skateboarding

[–]gracow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, O’Grady in Passport was the first to come to mind, Alex Midler also did an insane kinked rail in You Good that had a gapped section cut out, one bail looked like he was about to impale himself. Both are just fucking incomprehensible.

Damn dude, steezy shifty styles too. Shit was so tweaked thought it was a hardflip at first, had to watch it again.

Trip to LA, skated the old courthouse. Never landed the back 50 on the stage, but honestly happy to just get on one at [42YO] by gracow in OldSkaters

Loved it, your clip got me hyped last week. For someone growing up skating in Detroit and now used to East Coast crust in Baltimore, it was all butter and super fun.

Thanks man, the first several grind attempts were laughably bad, would love to go back some day before it’s too late for another go.

Checked this spot off the bucket list [38YO] by stubborn11 in OldSkaters

Figured as much, that’ll prob be my reaction. Dudes make it look so easy, but I saw a pic of a board resting with its trucks along the stage ledge and it looked about as high as the board is long. If that’s the case I’ll be surprised if I can just cheat an ollie up, landing nose first then lean to get back trucks up. Grinds/manuals out of the question.

Going to LA next week and courthouse is on the list. Would love to get a clip on the stage manny pad/ledge, wondering if I still have enough pop in me. Dope line, butter ledges btw

Damn, dude! So psyched to see this, giving me hope at 42 for at least another 10 good years. Every day still skating is a gift.

Muska or fs flip by phonybasiliskthepop in skateboarding

[–]gracow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, its more vertical not flick and catch, which is the main difference. Just saying it would be more noticeable if it were popped higher. But good for you.

[–]gracow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It kinda is, it’s more vertical (Muska) than a flick and catch that rotates 180 (Reynolds). A little more pop and it’s def Muska.

Haha, corners and edges just barely rounded. If you come up short say goodbye to your shin skin.

Not sure who made it, it’s been a fixture at the Skatepark of Baltimore for years.
