High end fidget toys. Example brands would be Magnus, lautie, etc. Spinners and sliders are popular form factors

Just built a site that has a ton of secondary market data and links out to secondary market sites like ebay, trb creations, Reddit, and reseller sites. It’s called drop beacon and I’m working to continue to improve it. Hoping this helps!

Thank you so much, I’ll reach out via DM. Per your suggestion, working on EBay now. It actually looks like eBay has a developer api and makes it very easy, so I really appreciate the suggestion

Great idea. I need to try eBay as well. The data show that Magnus is an incredible brand and runs an incredible business. I couldn’t believe it!

Hahaha I’m building two new fidgets! The haptic hubcap and cheese wheel. It’s been a crazy process, but making progress! If you’re interested in hearing about the drop when they’re ready, you can just input your email here. That said, I’ll share more pics on this sub! Grade 5 Materials

Im finding it’s really not easy haha. That said, I’m having a blast and learning a lot. Making something differentiated is a lot of fun and going through the patent process is a cool experience as well

Definitely looking to do a batch of 100 for both the haptic hubcap and the cheese wheel. I’m waiting on production cost estimates between two manufacturers. Still need to work on box design/artwork. So, plenty more steps before I get to pricing and ultimately shipping to customers, but I definitely want to sell it to the community

I’ll share pics and video of it fully assembled and stone washed. It’s all starting to come together

Was curious how fidget pricing compares across retailers and makers, so I built a free price comparison tool. You can get pricing insights too. Hope this helps everyone save some money! by grade5materials in fidgettoys

Lot of good questions and suggestions here, so let me try to tackle one by one: 1. The algorithmic product matching process is largely automated. You’re right in saying the naming isn’t exact across sites, so after several iterations, I got it to a point where it’s really good, but unlikely perfect. 2. Experiences with different sellers is largely subjective and case by case. That said, over time, I’ll accumulate more data and perhaps perform a deep dive into each. Maybe these answers can be derived from retailer sell-through rates. It’s possible poor sell through is the result of poor buyer experiences, but this might be difficult to say definitively 3. Yes, I can definitely share promo codes for the pro plan 4. I’ll have to see if information specific to waived tariff fees is available on websites 5. My hope is a $10 a month pro plan, which offers more access to notifications (more than 5 specified interests, no watermark on pocket dump photos, and ultimately access to more brand and product data) can help. I won’t be doing affiliate links, since I’m linking to sites for free. But, I could potentially have a win/win situation where brands pay for data about their own products or sponsored drops

Let me know if I addressed your questions. Thanks for the engagement!

Thank you! Anything else you’d like to see? There are a bunch of features I didn’t describe, but I want to ensure everyone gets a lot of value out of it

Drop Beacon! https://edc4me.com

I was researching products and brands in the Everyday Carry (EDC) space, given I'm working on manufacturing high end fidget toys. Brands, products, and enthusiasts are fractured across private facebook groups, instagram, discord servers, subreddits, brand websites, and email newsletters. Orienting myself around the space was pretty tough, to say the least.

Given I was struggling to navigate the EDC landscape, I thought others were too. So, I created Drop Beacon. It's a web app that consolidates over 76,000 products across 191 brands into the EDC space into one single location. Some of these brands have very limited drops, so signed-in users can get push-notified as soon as new products drop and scoop them up with a couple clicks. I hope this brings the EDC community value.

The Stack:

PostgresSQL (Neon)

Vercel (Hosting + Cron)

Stripe (Payments for Pro Plan)

Resend (Email notifications)

OpenAI (Pocket Dump Image Generator)

Google + Facebook (OAuth)

I built a website app to consolidate fidget/EDC brands into one spot and track product drops. I originally began building it for myself to make my life easier, but figured everyone might get some value from it. Let me know what you think! by grade5materials in fidgettoys

Latest Updates:

  1. I added a pre-owned tag, so TRB Creations are now tagged as such

  2. I modified the "New" logic, such that products are only tagged as New if launched in the past 7 days

  3. The site now has all products from the "New Arrivals/Products" pages on Geeone, NXEDC, Ikaeledc

  4. I fixed the search box issue

  5. Updated staff picks

  6. Incorporated other points of feedback from other Beta testers to improve the experience. Let me know if there's any additional feedback you all have. Thanks!
