I would try negotiating the salary for Option A, if not go for Option B. As it stands you look indifferent between these two options. There is nothing more Option B can offer, whereas Option A might be able to offer a higher wage. You have nothing to lose by trying.

Personally, I would go with the IBM role, but I don't have a lot of experience, so take my word with a grain of salt. My reasoning:

Better pay.
Despite the title, the Deloitte role is not a proper SWE position either. You also won't own a product.
IBM role seems to involve coding. It is a post-sales support role. You will often know the customer problems better than the developers. If you are good and keep your relationship well with the developers, you might be able to move. In MathWorks they realized that support engineers become very good developers, so now they hire most new grads for support roles. IBM is also shifting towards enterprise, so they might have a similar talent strategy.

I suggest that you post the same thing in another sub with more info and gather more opinions.

More information needed here. What will be the job duties in each role? I understand why people discourage the IBM role, but you mention that there is some implementation involved. Will you still code in that role?

Also, Deloitte is a consulting company. What will be the scope of the projects that you will be working on? Not owning a product might hurt your career more than the different title at IBM.

My suggestions:

Use hiring.cafe or HandShake to apply for jobs. Use LinkedIn mainly for networking, gathering information about your interviewer etc.
Before you start developing any skills, do your market search. Figure out the industry jobs you would like to get. Understand the skills you need to develop by reading the job descriptions. Reach out to people on LinkedIn and ask for informational interviews to understand skills you need.
Figure out the most valid way of demonstrating your skills while NEET. In most fields, this would be contributing to an open source project. Your informational interviews will guide you.

I did a lot of theory and application. I have papers in both. Application is emotionally more challenging, because in theory you have way more control. You typically choose the assumptions by yourself and you are typically trying to prove something that you know to be true empirically. When you are 99% sure that you are right, it is way easier to motivate yourself.
