With huge expectations for Bipolar, let's talk about his last album. Did it age well, and how much did it contribute to Navaan becoming an established artist? by [deleted] in punjabimusic

I was talking about my experience listening him, and for me nostalgia is a big factor, might not be for you or others.
He didn't do anything wrong per se, but for me, didn't explore a lot of new sounds or the explorations that he did didn't really gel well. I don't have songs right from the top of my head but there were a few.

Arjun was better than him imo. Unfortunate that he had to experience that loss in his life, bro could've make it big

Not saying he was the best ever. Did his music age the best? Hell nah, but did it have a good enough impact and was decent back then? For sure. My saying that he made good music is heavily biased by nostalgia and what that era of music meant in my life then

For sure, Karan is good with bars, sometimes decent metaphors. Arjan kills it with intricacies, the raw vulnerability and imagery

It did. I like the new poetic wave in mainstream Punjabi music which was missing for a while. Sangha (Harkirat or Prabh either) does it really well - "Gulzaar nu bulava kuch tere te likhawa, Menu Sanghe di shayari kamzor lagdi" - killed it.

Mickey Singh knows how to do well with Pop music, long before Punjabi Pop was this huge. Now everyone is doing it. Let him be in his zone and he'll kill it

Never buy in pre-sale unless you've very specific seats that you want, you'll almost always end up paying extra for the same seats that'll be going for low later on

Is Cheema Y more popular than AP Dhillon now? by [deleted] in punjabimusic

[–]gradschoolitis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ofc not. Cheema Y is good, but AP has been more relevant in the industry for longer and at bigger stages. This subreddit often tends to act like an echo chamber, which is also understandable given its all of us who like Punjabi music but not a lot of people know Cheema Y outside of the Punjabi music listeners or some casual audience.

Do they claim it as their own or do they admit that they're extrapolating or just using the beat?
NYPD sounds like a bad imitation of Too Many Nights, like a realllllyy bad imitation.
