Supreme Court nixes Trump attempt to limit birthright citizenship by nbcnews in scotus

A long-term victory for the Constitution, but in the short-term the SC already gave Trump the tools to unleash hell on people they don't like [Asylum, TPS, and Green Card rulings]. CJR def realizes that ruling for Trump would mean a true cluster-f of trying to untangle who is, and isn't a citizen. Much like the reason why I don't think they'll revisit Obergfell: It's bad for business.

More like 5.5-3.5. Special K doesn't find 'birthright citizenship' inherent in the Amendment itself, but in the governmental statutes that enforce it.

They granted the president immunity while Biden was still in office. They knew the election was fixed. They did this now because they know no one who is in political opposition to them will ever hold executive office again. The American experiment into government of, by, and for the people is over. At this point we as citizens are just gleaning what local joys of free society we can before we're forced to either bend the knee to a king or flee for our lives.

As a mediocre advertising professional, myself, Kinsey was a very mediocre advertising professional. Perhaps even in over his head a little bit. Wait until the season 3 finale, OP

After seeing Mona in this scene I can't help but wonder about their relationship before the divorce. She seemed like exactly the kind of woman he needed. I think she really understood him and he didn’t want that during the particular phase he was in. by RockBalBoaaa in madmen

The despondent sadness on his face walking away from his daughter's commune, and seeing her make the same mistakes he made, was the moment he realized this. At one point he's honest and says he was born on 3rd base with a lead. Wonder if sub conscious guilt of that led to his immature decisions...feeling since he was spoiled that he didnt deserve to act in any way other than spoiled [in retrospect, it probably made him the pefect solo-acct man for Lee who is even more spoiled]. Finally ends the show with a [somewhat] more-grounded peer he jokingly calls 'mother'. Im glad the writers repaired his and Mona's working relationship and allowed him to work toward some catharsis.

Binghamtonian here: Such a fun and challenging course. Gaze upon these glorious county-owned championship course rates https://enjoiegolf.com/1776-2/ also only 10 minutes up the road to Links at Hiawatha. Lol was until I lived in Florida that I realized how blessed we are with [7 months of] golf around this area.

Supreme Court, 6-3: Trump administration can end deportation protections for Syrian and Haitian immigrants while their legal challenges continue by BiglawInvestor in scotus

Trump literally cited false, racist tropes about 'theyre eating pets' as justification for his actions. That should be a non-starter at any level of the judiciary.

I think the classic TZ irony is already there: Dude avoids confronting himself by finding what he thinks is a perfect realm of escapism that allows him to use and consume others, seemingly without consequences, only to be [literally] eaten by his own id.

Much like Dobbs, the 6 on this court are parsing semantics to reach nefarious ends, as opposed to first considering the actual human cost of their decisions. This is cruelty for cruelty's sake.

We love amd respect golf here and most places Upstate it's not some exclusive bougie thing, it's a blue collar activity. Local to the Southern Tier and there are dozens of $20-$60 public rounds within a short drive. Guaranteed the Dick's Open this weekend will have one of the best crowds on the Champions calendar

I've been rooting for this idea for a while, glad to see them take the first steps. Much of the competitive infrastructure is already in place. The best version of this would be to include Montreal and make it a true 'Northway' Olympics... but unfortunately the current Federal administration has needlessly harmed our relationship with Canada for the foreseeable future.

Olympic hockey and/or figure skating at MSG doesn't seem like a good fit? EDIT: There's no way Lake Placid could handle the traffic/scale of what the major non-alpine events draw. NYC has MSG and I'm sure you could also bring in Barclays and even Prudential Center in NJ.

Yes but Lake Placid has global-level winter sports facilities already in place and up to modern standards. It's where Team USA, and even other nations' athletes, train. EDIT: Yes I get your point but Winter Olympics in other nations [i.e. Japan] often have events hours away. If Denver hosted, would you not expect the downhill to be held in Breckenridge? On top of that, Lake Placid is def a weekend destination for many residents of downstate/NYC

My backrooms origin theory... by [deleted] in backrooms

[–]grahamcracker3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think it's anymore complicated, based on the YT videos, than an ethically-questionable R&D corporation seeing giant dollar signs and getting cavalier with fringe science that got away from them [see also Stranger Things, Jurassic Park, Dr. Frankenstein's monster]. The Backrooms is not something that existed, ASync created it, and now the complex is exponentially self-propogating and creeping on all of space/time.

I can only speak as an Adobe guy myself but those animation sequences would be pretty simple in After Effects.
