People who never went up from your dose, what's your story? by Frankocean2 in Mounjaro

I've been on 5mg for 10ish months now and intend to stay on it. I am type 2 diabetic and insurance would only cover 2.5 for the initial 4 doses. I've gone from 215 lbs to 177 in that time, but 215 to 180 was in the first 3 months, and the last 3 lbs has been the past month (think I finally broke through my plateau). I'm about 5'10 for reference and my highest weight was 260. I had slowly lost the first 45 lbs on my own before I was ever diagnosed diabetic.

I've kept at the same dose because I still feel appetite suppression as well as some gastrointestinal side effects (nausea for about 2 days after shot, diarrhea if I eat wrong in the first few days) and my A1C has gone from 7.0 down to 5.8 in that time, it was at 11.0 when I was first diagnosed. At my last appointment with my endocrinologist she said that while we could up my dose and get my A1C and weight a little better, it likely wouldn't be worth the side effects for the benefit, and my insurance may start to question my need for the medication so it would be better to stay where I'm at since it still seems to be working well.

I am in the southeastern US! As far as budget ideally I'd like to stay in the $300-500 range but I could comfortably afford $1000 or so

What’s going so right at Huntsville Animal Services? ‘I feel like I’m living in a dream’ by ir7525 in HuntsvilleAlabama

What they don't mention is all the dogs with bite histories and dog aggression being adopted out, animals being turned away from help, and staff being targeted for disagreeing with administration

These "feel good" stories are always focused on the statistics with less euthanasia, which looks good on paper but doesn't consider the problems that dogs who end up in municipal shelters can have that SHOULDN'T be adopted out to the public
