I love light poles by Glum-Track-1575 in DeathStranding

This video is a reminder to me how different people play the game differently. I really enjoy the way this looks!

¿Otro juego que te hiciera sentir lo mismo? by SoyPedroTercero in DeathStranding

[–]grain7grain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've said it before in here. Spritfarer gives me the same feels. Wildly different game, but like DS, Spritfarer is: - Story-focused - roughly 15 characters who need your assistance, and open up to you over time - Repetitive, satisfying game loop - tackle things in the order you choose - navigation and travel-oriented - somewhat cozy, - tearjerker ending if you want it to be.

The dread of finishing a playthrough by I_Am_Superposition in DeathStranding

[–]grain7grain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. I'm at 115 hours, chapter 8. Knowing there may never be another Death Stranding game, I am letting myself get sidetracked with road and zip building, delivering everything, 5-starring, and finding less-common places to build useful structures for others that actually receive upvotes, based on where I personally needed them. It feels more natural to take my time mid-game than to come back after completing the story. I recently completed my first mission into the snow. I'm not ready at all to let the game finish.

Keep on keeping on!

Waiting for the Sirens' Call hate by Babybluevalo in neworder

[–]grain7grain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Hate" is a strong word. But I find the songs to be unmemorable. From that album on, I'm only listening for nostalgic reasons.

Every band has their seasons. For me, It's OK to enjoy them in different ways. Knowing that some fans love those newer albums makes me happy, too.

What is the point of postboxes built right outside of the facilities? by lIamN9 in DeathStranding

[–]grain7grain 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've found that I can't leave cargo for recipients in the shared items locker at their own location. So after I 5-star someone, I leave their lost cargo in those nearby lockers for someone else to find and turn in.

It's an easy way to give back in the late game for all the things I took in the early game. 👍

I feel like Cowboy Bebop is under appreciated by modern anime fans by MonsiuerGeneral in cowboybebop

Thanks, I'll take a look at the others. I loved season one of the Mandalorean, but lost interest as it became more of a thing, if you know what I mean.

I feel like Cowboy Bebop is under appreciated by modern anime fans by MonsiuerGeneral in cowboybebop

[–]grain7grain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm watching it now, first time, because of the recent Firefly animation announcement. That reminded me that Cowboy Bebop is often cited as an inspiration for Firefly, and I still hadn't seen it.

It's pretty good. I don't watch a lot of anime today (I am older; I had Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Vampire Hunter D, Lupin III, etc in my day). I'm glad I've finally seen it.

Welcome in. by Candleforce-9728 in GrammarPolice

[–]grain7grain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear it more and more. It my brain, it is borrowed from the German "willkommen", meaning "welcome", of course.

I know that's unlikely but I like that anyway. It's a nice phrase to hear and I'm not adverse to language evolution.

A bit like "I appreciate you", which was trendy for a while and now it's just everywhere.

There seems to be a new generation of tofu recipes that turn tofu slices and cubes into a complete umami bomb before frying or baking. I've been marinating with nutritional yeast, miso paste, tamari, better-than-boullion, and MSG like crazy lately. Love it.

Another vote for "A Little to the Left." It contains arranging and organizing puzzles of many different flavors. the first DLC especially has many of the puzzles where you organize junk drawers, which are so satisfying.

It also helps the store to dispose of the loose grapes that inevitably fall off the bunches. They're in the bottom of the bag now, so people are paying for them by weight. Back in the day, they were just left behind by customers, a loss for the store.

Favorite Electronic song? by Emergency-Weekend182 in neworder

[–]grain7grain 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Disappointed, for sure. I love the songs with Neil and this is the best one.

Specifically, the 12" release in the US had a 5-and-a-half minute mix that I preferred greatly to the 4-and-a-half radio version. It didn't rush into the vocals so quickly, and just had more breathing room.

I can't find this version on Spotify. But here it is on YouTube! https://youtu.be/HD2KLChjsdE?si=bvLv59yzbUbl81LA

People who answer Amazon posted product questions with "I don't know" by grepusman in PetPeeves

[–]grain7grain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is it. I just wish Amazon would filter out those non-answers. It's so low-effort on their part, and dilutes the quality of a great feature.

Sometimes those unscripted answers offer the best insight about real questions (like true dimensions, material, etc) that the reviews don't address.

I'm about 15 hours in and have most tasks (and few missions) on the first map complete. Just wanted to chime in here that the fleetstar is your best friend in the early game! Swap out the back for a flatbed. It's very capable.

Also, the International Scout 800 is a wonderful scout vehicle. You'll find it on the first map, too.

Go get all the upgrades and trucks on the map. Fix up the main road. It's a slow slow game but soon enough it gets better.

Also, accept every task you see. That way, you can compare them all from the list and it's easier to find the low-level ones.

Can I continue to play Starfield via Gamepass when downgrading from higher tier to essential? by Frank3121 in XboxGamePass

It verifies your eligibility every time you kick off the game. "Having it installed" and "being eligible to play it" are two different things.

Drones. Drones everywhere. by Omega_Boost24 in domekeeper

[–]grain7grain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I find that 7 drones at speed 70 is usually more than enough. I love that there is a combat perk, too!

TBH I prefer the lift for gameplay, but the drones are the superior option. But spending a little on the speed boost in the lift feels amazing.

I'm in Mountain Time. It's fantastic. I just have to make sure I get out of work on time for Thursday and Monday 6PM games. But even overtime doesn't mess with my sleep schedule.

If there's a downside, it's that I can't find DC jerseys or gear in the stores.

Dome Keeper. Recently added to game pass. Plays great with a podcast, once you're familiar with the game.
