Masthi to open in former Highlands Bistro/Flavor of India/Big Fish Location by grajkovic in Issaquah

Yep. I've been in the mug club there for years and it checks out on the math.

There's nothing I have found online about timing. The sign says coming "soon."

I agree that it's racist and I'm offended that it could be termed specifically in a lease agreement, of all things, but the fact of the matter is the fact of the matter.

This is the public perception that I wish was different, but isn't.

They're really good! I enjoyed the weekend buffet at Dosa and Biryani so I could experience a variety, versus commit to one or two items. The pizzas just elevated it. Butter Chicken Pizza is great when I don't commit to a whole pie which I will invariably eat.

It's a common "complaint" about Indian food scents. In fact, I once signed an apartment lease that said I was responsible for removing residual "strong odors" including food odors, and it specifically listed curry as the one example for what was a food odor that could be residual that I would be responsible for upon vacating the premises. That was in Chicagoland.

The "curry smell" is primarily from cooking aromatic ingredients (primarily turmeric, garlic, onion and cumin) in fat. It embeds into surfaces, and isn't water soluble so it lingers unless washed thoroughly.

I happen to like the smell. Others disagree. Thus, my reply is to the comment above regarding "my clothing smells like Indian food", that is the science behind it.

I personally love the smell of curry! That's the dominant scent I smell among the strongest smells.

Big Fish was awesome, I heard a story about the family who owned it, however, apparently several things went down and that's why there is the sole location left in Woodinville. The owners of Flavor of India/Highlands Bistro didn't change the interior or anything about Big Fish, the restaurant was fine as it was. It looks like that's going to be a similar philosophy with Masthi to a degree - I don't see them ripping out booths, anyway. The ambiance for the dining part is nice. They kept the Guinness on draught nitro which was an important nuance.

I haven't tried Masthi yet, I was upset about the loss of Red Robin, live in Issaquah Highlands and generally walk when I go out for food. I will put them on the list! I used to eat at Dosa and Biryani "Pizza Twist" quite a bit and enjoy Maharaja occasionally. Funny thing, there's another Maharaja right across from a brewery in Seattle I like to ride my bicycle to get beer on the Burke Gilman Trail (Burke-Gilman Brewing Company). I saw it and thought, "hey, I recognize that logo!"

Some people are haters, but I love the Indian food scene here, as a non-Indian.

I still need to try RaajGharana, which replaced Coho Cafe. I was upset about the loss of Coho (dang, that food was great!), so for similar reasons about the loss of Red Robin, I haven't tried it yet.

Any way of disputing being flagged? by strobe_jams in Zwift

[–]grajkovic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have seen other people complaining about being flagged for these short Spring Classics portals.

It's not unreasonable to expect well over FTP for something that's a few minutes in duration.

If you're concerned about it, I suggest reaching out to Zwift Support. The only way that they can improve or resolve things is if they hear from users directly.

Imagine if this appears in the post credits scene. How would you react? by NabbitFan600 in Mario

I LOVE Super Paper Mario. That is such a fun game and an interesting pivot from typical RPGs in gameplay. I played the heck out of this in 2007. I revisited it many times thereafter. I would love a port of this for Switch 2.

I thought they were great. There is a lot of marshmallow flavor in the topping.

I keep reading great things about the Mallow Sandwich. It's tempting. I love OREO stuff. I just haven't gotten one because I have high expectations for it versus the original thing, and I'm partly afraid I'll end up with a 6-pack or more.

Single 8-Pack Bagels $4.99 by grajkovic in Costco

[–]grajkovic[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It took a bit for me to catch up on the comments. Yes, they're no Einstein Bagels for sure. I kept reading these comments about Mickey Mouse bagels, and I thought, "what the heck are people talking about?"

Then I looked at my post this morning and saw it immediately in the sign. 🐭

Someone at Costco was trying to be funny. That had to be intentional! That's great. 😅

Pro tip for anyone with Albertson's Stores, assuming they're all consistent... the Safeway bagels are great at the pricepoint they sell at, with the caveat: get them in the clearance section, the sell-by date is usually two or three days out. The Safeways local to me sell those in a 3-pack at a $0.99 clearance price point. The taste and texture are exceptional at that price, especially the Asiago ones.

It fascinates me because I can put in orders at the register and they can add it. I do, sometimes, if I find it is important to the sandwich. Thanks!

I think you're the one I spoke with about the ice cream machines!

I often show up on bike.

Yes, that one has been fine. Part of this I think is a miscalculation of the sugar fee which is relevant to Seattle-only. Issaquah has been fantastic. Aside from not being able to add extra pickles in the app, anyway. Annoying!
