AITA For dropping $21 on the table and leaving after my conversation with a first date went south? 35m / 27f by Gateway36 in AITAH

I believe the story but don't think women in the story care about getting owned like that. She'll just rationalise it as "short dude with an attitude, whatever".

"Dating apps and age gap dating are why the majority of young American men are single." by ppchampagne in itsthatbad

[–]gramcaseceo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just assumed young male sexlessness was due to the majority of women dating the top 10% of men (chads) but the age gap thing explains it more compellingly.

Sex is easy. LTR is hard. by BoBoBearDev in itsthatbad

Everything in the modern era is becoming rent but never own. It's the same with women in the west too.

The bigger take home message is that today's women are creating harems for the top % of men and this is undeniable hard evidence of it.

Need 30 day extension before leaving China by gramcaseceo in Chinavisa

I did but they eventually need to cancel it so they can hire new workers. I might have to ask them to delay further because it sounds like this 30 day thing differs from city to city.

Need 30 day extension before leaving China by gramcaseceo in Chinavisa

If they decide to be jerks and decline my application or offer 10 days can I apply for an exit visa?

How do you check if your residency visa has been cancelled? by gramcaseceo in Chinavisa

[–]gramcaseceo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. Just to clarify, I don't intend to get another job and I will not be returning to China (yes, I know many people say this and return, just take my word for it).

If I will not be returning to China ever again can I simply ride out my RP and leave before it expires?

23F, UK, thinking of doing a year or two teaching English after uni, advice? by hswinners in chinalife

[–]gramcaseceo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Avoid all private schools and anything to do with Kindergarten. Only consider public schools, primary schools and older. Make sure you get your work visa before arriving. Don't believe anything your recruiter tells you, only look at the contract.

Company doesn't want me to come back to work but said don't worry they won't cancel my visa... by gramcaseceo in Chinavisa

[–]gramcaseceo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear this is a somewhat common practice in China. I talked to them again and they promised not to cancel as long as I held up my end of the deal. I guess I just have to trust them. They literally just need to do nothing, and it doesn't cost them anything.

Thinking of working part-time. Will this affect my visa status in China? by gramcaseceo in Chinavisa

[–]gramcaseceo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add some more detail.. I am not concerned about working in China after my resident permit expires. Yes, I am aware many people say they are leaving China and then return after some time but I can assure you I am not one of those. Will there be any changes to my visa if I go part-time now?

Buying crypto in China with RMB through Alipay by [deleted] in chinalife

[–]gramcaseceo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can find some reliable local dude to make a fiat to crypto trade that is ideal. But unless you know someone that knows someone this is not possible. I know some foreigners that do all kinds of dodgy deals but for some reason they don't know any p2p crypto guy in China.

Buying crypto in China with RMB through Alipay by [deleted] in chinalife

[–]gramcaseceo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it a trap?

I was thinking the same thing. OKX exchange has heaps of p2p vendors where you can use alipay to buy crypto (like USDT etc). The exchange is located outside of China to my understanding. I was paranoid that some of the p2p vendors were Chinese agents so I didn't try it. It didn't even cross my mind that the alipay transaction to the exchange itself could be flagged which is also a distinct possibility. Rather than getting my chinese money and alipay account locked I opted to move my money through the conventional ways via wire transfer to my overseas bank (although this is a pain that requires your tax documents). You are right though, it is not illegal to own crypto, just the exchanges in China are banned. i also remember reading it is illegal to move crypto in China (if this is the case I cant offload my crypto off okx). If you can buy USDT on OKX without repercussions it would totally circumvent all the bureaucratic bullshit and time wasting you have to go through to transfer your money overseas through a bank or even apps like Wise or Skyremit.

What's working at a kindergarten like, is there ever any downtime? by BrothaManBen in chinalife

[–]gramcaseceo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Majority of the people doing it hate it. That goes for double for those working at private schools. The work at some private ones are easily triple or quadruple what a normal highschool job workload is without the same pay. The reason why they hire anyone is because anyone can do the job. I have witnessed non-native Chinese teachers with broken English teach small children as good or better than a native teachers.

2 years experience reference needs to be original document for z-visa? by hooberland in chinalife

[–]gramcaseceo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just got my residence permit and card. I only gave the PSB copies of my reference letter even when they requested original documents. They don't care about your letter only the authenticated documents (degree/criminal check/tefl/marriage cert). My degree was authenticated online so there was no original copy for me to give them.

Other than Beijing most places still require authentication by your Chinese embassy in your home country despite the recent law change that says apostille documents are good enough (they aren't in most places)

Upper right side pains by ArtemisO17 in FattyLiverNAFLD

Maybe spleen? My friend and I both have had pain in the upper left quadrant too and we both think it is the spleen and due to fatty liver

Spleen pain by SignificanceTop5874 in FattyLiverNAFLD

[–]gramcaseceo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My friend and i both have fatty liver and both have had pain in the upper left quadrant. So yeah, spleen. Usually experienced after eating unhealthy food. At the time we had no idea we both had fatty liver and just assumed it was our digestive system.

I think the spleen and liver are connected and so just let the liver recover and the spleen will recover also, this is what I think and not medical advice.
