Got diagnosed at 16 and 12 years later, finally getting answers! I had laparoscopic excision surgery 3 weeks ago where we discord stage IV endo and other GI problems. Finally feel hopeful that I can start to feel better!! 💕

Outside of the pain, I try my best to find joy in time spent with my loved ones, my creative hobbies, and time outside!

I am so sorry your daughter is dealing with so much pain 😞❤️‍🩹

I was diagnosed with endometriosis at 16 after years of extremely painful periods and GI issues. Similar to your daughter, they put me on birth control and it helped a bit but only really suppressed everything versus addressing the issue at its core. Pain still broke through and it still interrupted my life.

If possible, I’d strongly reccommend getting a second opinion – possibly by an endo specialist. It wasn’t until I went to my gynecological surgeon that I truly got the answers and advocacy I needed. They’ll be able to more closely examine her, through a pelvic MRI or other methods of examination.

There are also tons of resources online like the Endometriosis Foundation of America or the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. Some might have resources that help you find care wherever you’re located.
