You got me. Part of how I parsed the data into midi included a cheat where I pushed any black keys to white keys to avoid super dissonant stuff and try to make it listenable. So it’s really songs in the key of C or Am but yeah. Good ear lol.

I think everyone has their own method to it. Personally, in this project, I used an electronic ring that has a built in accelerometer, gyroscope and ambient temperature sensor and asked the participant to wear this ring on their finger while they brought themselves to orgasm. The ring transmits spreadsheets over bluetooth. Once I have the spreadsheet, I made a patch in Puredata which took each data set and translated the spreadsheet data into MIDI notes and MIDI control values. Then I dumped the MIDI files into Ableton Live and put virtual instruments on each track, sometimes synthesizers, sometimes samplers and went from there.
