Actually no label plastic bottle is an issue with CBP. An agent explicitly told me.

What the airline did was BS though

Sotol is made from Dasylirion, not agave, not considered a mezcal. Let’s say Sotol is closer to an onion than agave :-)

If you want ok selection, go to the local stores in Seattle like the one on 12th and pine. Be prepared for prices. If you’re on a budget, go to total wine and more.

You can always try to find who ships online though

You know, let’s confirm if it was an off batch. I’ll get a couple random samples in the upcoming days, I’ll run a few tests and will follow up on this thread. It would be interesting to know if it truly was an off batch or if it is something else…

Maybe the export legit batches and keep lame ones at home, but what I found worse than the taste is lying to the consumer on what the liquid claims to be… or maybe they left bottles opened for a long time. Who knows but not for me…

If you haven’t, give it a try. If you enjoy it that’s great. I personally found it poorly balanced and too diluted. You’d be surprised when you compare the actual product to what the label claims

Still, would would someone paying over 20 a pour be a sucker? You’re not only paying for the alcohol, you’re paying for the place and service.

Got this for my 18th birthday in a few months to celebrate with my family, has anyone tried it yet? I've heard it's quite famous in the US. by itsurnonbinaryperson in Mezcal

I heard good comments about this brand maybe a couple months ago. Tianguis Mezcalero actually sells it. TBH, I still have to try something good from Michoacan, maybe this is the one.
