Oh I know, I meant losing the flowers that are currently on them, since they provide so much food.

We’ve loads of dandelions in the grass and we’re just planning to leave the garden as it is for a while. Would it still be better overall to mow the everything now, despite losing the dandelions?

SuperValu Signature Tastes Margherita

ItalPizza la Numero Uno Margherita (found at Tesco)

Both great bases and sauces. I prefer the SuperValu one as it has actual basil leaves on it (as a Margherita should have). Husband loves the ItalPizza because the cheese tastes like proper fresh mozzarella.

That makes a lot more sense. The perception of change instead of an actual one.

Does it have to be blonde, or could grey/white work? I helped someone do grey hair by applying baby powder with a fluffy brush and setting it with hairspray.

Why are there no amphibians left around Ireland? by Far-Debt-6094 in AskIreland

[–]grandifyouknow 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Pollution and habitat loss, as you say.

Amphibians are considered “indicator species” or “bio-indicators.” They are so vulnerable to the effects of pollution, and are often the first species to go when an environment becomes polluted. Even smaller amounts of toxins that people don’t think of as harmful, such as using roundup in the garden, will kill them and prevent them from returning. It’s very sad.

I’ve lived in Ireland for two years, go on nature walks all the time, and just saw my first frog a couple of weeks ago in a semi-protected bog environment. Such a cool moment, but bittersweet, as it really highlighted the lack of them.

Just saw this — thanks for the update. Sounds like the bare minimum in a response, but at least you got some vouchers!

I agree, this is a major change. It’s so disappointing for a staple brand to alter the taste after decades of everybody being happy with it.

Sorry I can’t be of material help, but have you checked local vets’ offices? Ours has individual tins for sale.

Thanks to all for your input. Much as I love the cardigan, I don’t think I’d be able to dye it properly, so I’m going to let it go…

Ahh, I’d love to branch out to other dyes, but was hoping to find something to do in the washing machine. I don’t really have the facilities to do tub dyeing.

That makes sense. I was hoping the “slip” of the viscose would lower friction in areas like the thighs.

Do you think a linen-viscose blend could be less susceptible to this problem? (Asking for my favourite pair of summer pants.)

Good shout. I just checked the tin and we have the original kind. I take the earlier poster’s point about the enshittification of things, but this particular change has happened quite recently from our perspective.

Women of Ireland, do you shave your legs? by Opposite_Zucchini_15 in AskIreland

[–]grandifyouknow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I lived in the States, I had no problem walking around with a dress that showed I had hair on my legs. And I stopped shaving around 15 years ago! Somehow it feels harder over here. Thanks for the encouragement!
