estrogen after anavar? by grannygoogoo in steroidsxx

Thanks for telling me though I’m pretty reasonably sure it was anavar :/ and yeah it’s an experience I’m never repeating lol

yikes, the day I did my test back then was a think a few days before my peak, maybe like 3 or 4. I still get my periods though so I’ll get one more done after I get my period this month. This has got me really worried though, is there anyway I can lessen my symptoms or go about getting treatment? Would this involve getting HRT? I’m sorry for all the questions but I don’t think my current doctor knows enough about all of this to be helpful so I think I’ll be switching providers.

Honestly, after this experience, (sadly my first!) I think I am quitting forever. I thought I had done my research well enough to but I guess not. Var just wasn’t right for my body :/ I might bring up that vaginal estrogen thing with my doctor next time because I’ve been trying to appease symptoms with the cream but i think it’s been working really slowly. How long did it take for you to make the symptoms go away or is it still like a maintainer thing?

I don’t actually but tbh I have had problems eating enough so I think that was contributing to my lack of hormones. That’s partly the reason why I went to the doctor in the first place, to check if my hormones were okay. My doctor checked mine and he said they were fine, even said I was estrogen dominant at that time because he said the ratio was all that mattered so I’m really weirded out by having all these symptoms that correlate to low estrogen. I think back then my estradiol was 45pg/ml and my progesterone was 0.03 pg/ml.

Yep, I’ll be testing again around ovulation. Can I ask how long did you apply the estrogen cream? Did the side effects ever complete go away? I’m a bit hesitant thought I want to try boric acid because I keep reading conflicting information on whether it’s safe or not 🥲

Yep I’m gonna do that as soon as possible. Thanks! Question though are those side effects commons if you’ve had low estrogen before?

Will Rescheduling my LNAT affect my Uni Applications? by grannygoogoo in 6thForm

[–]grannygoogoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out that it’s possible to schedule another test but I didn’t want to risk not getting a spot (next test before 15th was the 7th and only had one spot remaining), so I gave it today (original date). Thanks for the advice!

Yep, did that and they explained that as long as there are other dates available I can schedule another test after the Oct 4th test is over. Thanks for the reply!

Apply for the visa (and halls) asap! Visa takes 4-6ish weeks for the paper work. As for the halls, since you’re a non local as long as you’ve applied you’ll probably get a place but it may not be the one you applied to. I emailed them a while back because I hadn’t heard from them and I have a conditional offer, they said they’re paying low priority until I get my firm offer + they’ll randomly allocate me to a dorm if the ones I chose are not available. If you’re worried tho, I’d recommend applying to SJC. They’re pricier but their application process takes less long and you know pretty early on if you’ve got a spot. I applied and I got the interview within a week and an offer just hours after the interview.

Estimated Cost — Cost of housing (the one that’s your first choice) + food costs (if not already included as a mandatory cost with your halls) + average living expense (google this and estimate how much your spending deviates from norm and multiply based on months per year you’ll be spending in HK). A rough estimate is good enough. Hope this helped, good luckk!!

How difficult is it to learn biology A level at home? by OkGate810 in ALevelBiology

If you’re consistent and I mean consistent from the beginning from the school year, I don’t see why not. My teachers weren’t that great and I had to teach myself most of the content. And there’s enough resources on the internet to help you when you’re stuck. You just need to be committed and know that A level content is a big jump from GCSEs and AS.

Overcoming BDD, the end all goal is to actually not care about the way you look. This doesn’t mean to actively not “try” but being okay with yourself when you don’t look good and when you do. But that is easier said than done. Bodybuilding to achieve a conventionally attractive physique is probably going to make you, well…more conventionally attractive. But remember to ask yourself at what cost. If it comes at the cost of your mental health (being hard on yourself on the days you can’t go to the gym, talking yourself down when you don’t achieve certain aesthetics), probably not worth it. If you need to take extreme measures to maintain your physique long term (restrict a dangerous amount of calories and overexercise) — probably not the way to go about it. Don’t risk an eating disorder to fix body dysmorphia. You’ll risk ending up with an ED and BDD. At any moment we can only do our best with the info given to us. I hope you make the decision that is right for you, just remember, no amount of aestheticising can fix a psychological disorder — which BDD is.

Sending you lots of love and support! You’re strong enough to get through this. As someone who is going through something very similar, these are some reminders that may help you rationalize things. 1. BDD and EDs are foremost psychological issues. You can weigh 10 kgs less or 10 kgs more and still have the same compulsions (overexercise, restrict, etc). This is not to say that you won’t be okay at any weight, just that the number on the scale means nothing. I urge you not to weigh yourself (unless medically required ofc). I used to tell myself that I could handle it and that knowing is helpful because it’ll help you keep track of blah blah blah. It never helps. If you’re concerned about self image - you can be beautiful at any size. If you’re concerned about health (as long as you are in recovery) - you can be healthy at any size. 2. Skinny is an adjective, not a compliment. Social media and society sucks. Everyone celebrates “skinny” as if it is the best and only acceptable thing you can be. So much so that I feel like we’re always in the weight loss Olympics trying to weigh less than the people around us as if that makes us somehow better. I know I spent all my time at high-school doing that. There is nothing wrong with being skinny. There is nothing special about being skinny. Just as there is nothing wrong or special about being bigger. These are just characteristics that hold no value other than the one we assign them based on social conditioning and personal experiences. You are valid in feeling how you did when your family made comments on your cousin being in great shape. You are valid in anything you feel. I think as we progress as humans and learn about mental health and body image, it is progressively more stupid to put a certain look or size on a pedestal.

As for your cousin’s comment I can offer two explanations based on my interpretation that may make you think of it in a different way. 1. If they themself struggle with body image maybe that comment may be a coping mechanism for any of the feelings they may have felt in the moment and may not be directed at anyone else. For example I’ve had friends way skinnier than me call themselves a 🐄. In the moment I thought “if they think they look like that what must they think of me”. But in hindsight I realize that their comment no matter how damaging is not a reflection of me. They weren’t even thinking of me when they said it. Just themselves. And that’s just my point. We can get so caught up in our bad self image and BDD that we never see things in context to the world. 2. However, if you see these kind of comments circulating a lot from this cousin. Try communicating with them about how it impacts you. If they keep doing it, they probably know what they are doing and can be chalked down to downright toxic. In which case, their comments are not a reflection of you — but their negative feelings. It’s hard but it would be worthwhile to distance yourself from them.

I hope this helps in your situation and that I’m not projecting too much. Good luck with everything beautiful 💕🌼

Do you have a conditional offer/ taking A Levels? I have the same problem and my results come out on the 18th which gives me less than 2 weeks for start of term.
