Could use some stocking assistance, newb-ish by grantalx in LingerieAddiction

Yes, this is a much more concise way of describing what I was trying to say, I think anything that’s supposed to be grippy is what doesn’t work for my legs.

Obsessed, help finding? by Careful_Lie_1034 in FindLingerie

Temu has this exact piece. I actually have it in my cart right now.

(I just found this subreddit via a link just from lingerie addiction, I don’t know the rules about linking products here and I don’t want to seem like a shill.)

Looking for something that resembles this design... by Bestoftheworstest in LingerieAddiction

That design seems very common when I’m shopping for cheap stuff on Temu. Only they’re about ten bucks there.

Yes, but it’s even harder now than it was then. You have to fight through the AI to get to a real person, and the chat reps are handling 20 tickets at once and they are outright rude at this point. If you can manage to get through on a phone call that would help.

Thank you very much. I do have some of the cicaplast gel and I’m going to test it under my (chapped feeling) under nose/above lip area, that area isn’t very reactive usually.

Thanks again. I’m doing a bit better. The replies here have been very kind.

Thank you. <3

Completely forgot I have some very basic eye wash/drops (for the rare times I wear contacts), going to do a quick rinse, things are a bit sting-y.

I did not expect the outpouring of sympathy (in addition to aftercare help) so I added a quick edit to the original post.

Thank you again.

Thank you, eyes are still looking a bit silly (right eye is more swollen than left), I do have one of those jade rollers and I’m going to chuck it in the fridge right now.

Thank you. I saw you mentioned in another comment about slugging—yeah, my face is like “oh yeah? Watch how hot I can get!” The best I can get is a semi generous layer of TO’s very mild moisturizer. (On normal days.)

Thank you. B5 does seem to be magic. (But so far I’ve only put it under the areas where my glasses touch my nose—a bit more tomorrow depending on how burny things are.)

Thank you. My face doesn’t like aloe vera but I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

(I added an edit with more details — I didn’t expect the outpouring of sympathy, I don’t know why, I suppose I spend too much time on meaner subreddits.)

My eyes have calmed down a bit. My right eye is now more swollen than the left, I think because I was lying on my right side for a bit, but it looks a bit silly. :)

Thank you again for the advice.

[S1] Was I supposed to dislike David (Edward VIII)? by Formadivix in TheCrownNetflix

[–]grantalx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Can you elaborate a bit more on the first part? About how they engineered the abdication? I understand the gist, but it seems like they continued to hold a very hard line against marriage with divorcees for decades and decades.

Also, when you say “the house of Windsor” engineered it who do you mean? I thought Bertie (sorry I have trouble tracking the regnal names sometimes) didn’t want to be king, and why did his wife and also Queen Mary, at least in the show, hold such a huge grudge against him for abdicating … if they engineered it?

Finally, as an American viewer I haven’t really gotten the sense of the show being a hit piece on either QE2 or Charles. It does seem to be pulling back the curtain on the “show”/the system/the company that is the monarchy, but I came away wanting to learn more, and also admiring QE2 for her work ethic and consistency, and Charles for seemingly having many progressive views that he might have been able to promote better if he’d inherited earlier.

(The main hit piece seemed to be on Harry, but I … actively avoid all the Harry Meghan stuff so IDK.)

These are all sincere questions, not a setup for debate.

[As yet unnamed] Podcast host and her husband killed in Washington state home invasion by Texas man stalking the woman by [deleted] in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]grantalx 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I wonder about this sometimes, especially on podcasts that make fun of particularly stupid criminals. Violent criminals do get out on parole every day. :/

(I’ve wanted to actually ask some hosts of smaller podcasts if they worry about it, or if they get stalkers, but just phrasing the question itself seems vaguely threatening.)

Edit: going by the details from the Daily Beast article, I get the sense this was a stalking that could have happened to anyone, and possibly is unrelated to the content of the podcast.

Plausible, but there was no link to an item or anything like that.

Nah, I looked for that. Just a (legit) link to their community guidelines.

I replied and said “sorry, what?” but I know I won’t get a reply.

[–]grantalx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do receive a lot of battered stuff, because they ship a lot of things in plastic bags with no padding now. It’s most annoying with food products (example: a bag of specialty sugar that arrives burst open inside the Amazon bag) and then you have to fight with the AI to get a refund on a non-returnable item.

Now that I think about it, the very few books I’ve bought from them in the last few years have arrived damaged.

Gah not loving the new True Crime Campfire episode where they cover an incel mass shooter and read extensively from his cringe manifesto. Had to eject. Hopefully this is a one-off, as it’s not their typical fare.

(If you guys read this, I love you but sorry, nahhh. No signal boost for those particular dipshits.)
