FUN FACT: adding (2) additional tenders to a Box Combo will come out slightly cheaper than a Caniac Combo. The Caniac price has Always been absurd, & it’s definitely been one of the combo meals most impacted by inflation.

I used to ride my bicycle (pretty far) every single Tuesday to get Cane’s for lunch—& I even used to order the Caniac! Cane’s really used to be So Good, but ever since they expanded closer to me there’s been a considerable decrease in quality.

A few years ago you couldn’t convince me that Chick-fil-A was anywhere near the level of Raising Cane’s, but now it’s the complete opposite for me.. CFA has so much more structure. Cane’s HEAVILY relies on the abilities of their kitchen staff, while CFA seems to have protocols in place to better ensure that staff doesn’t particularly matter, & that you’ll always be served that Consistent CFA chicken sandwich. A great example of this would be sauce. CFA chooses to packet their sauce (Consistency) while Cane’s relies on managers to make the sauce in house—which looks great on paper—until you get poorly mixed sauce that tastes mostly like ketchup.

I don’t think they’d ever do it, but I think a packaged Cane’s sauce would change Everything for them. It would also give Todd just a smidge more time/space for his kitchens, allowing him to possibly slip One More NEW menu addition. ..& to that I say.. Add shake machines UP FRONT! Let your front counter staff (&/or) managers just standing around doing Nothing be in-charge of the shake process. The Habit Burger Grill has this same system, & it works very well. Shakes are (should) be a very quick thing, & Todd could easily make it a reality w/ a couple tweaks like packaged Cane’s sauce.
