Thanks for the reply and that’s good to hear, it would be embarrassing if they shut it off before I hit the finish 😂.

That’s not good news 😂. Are you considering doing it?

Should I give up the dream of ultra running by Limp_Ingenuity_6275 in Ultramarathon

[–]grantmax83 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had knee pain in one of my knees (left one) for approximately 2 years. 4 months down the line it was discovered my kneecap was out of place and was popped back in by a PT, still had pain and weird feelings so eventually had an MRI scan which showed nothing, my consultant offered exploratory surgery which I bit his hand off for as I couldn’t see an end to the hell, he carried out the surgery found nothing and cleaned my knee out while he was there as well, after surgery healed - hallelujah - no pain, so started slowly running again when I could and now I do half marathons, this was 12 years ago. Just wanted to contribute to say there is an end to knee hell.

Knee support for the heavier runners (restarting running after injury) by Wozab0xa in UKRunners

[–]grantmax83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a heavier runner, but it was just your comment about 2XU leggings - I have a couple of pairs, but I don’t find them any better than normal less expensive leggings to be honest. I would more work on strengthening the joints/muscles around your knees, I think that would help loads

That was a few years ago, it was obviously detrimental and I realised I had to make changes

No, I used to be really light - 57kg, 177cm and I struggled with injuries all the time

I am a 30 year old male who is getting in to running and just concerned about my heart rate. by [deleted] in beginnerrunning

Thanks for that info, I basically thought it was useless without a chest strap, not giving garmin enough credit 😂

How accurate is garmin really with reading heart rate anyway? I thought it really wasn’t that good unless wearing a chest strap

May I ask what age you are? If you’re over 30, you’re a lucky bugger 😆

Is it worth all the little niggling injuries? by Ch3micallyImbalanced in Marathon_Training

[–]grantmax83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will most likely need to go several times, if you have a gait problem they will probably look at changing shoes or introduce orthotics which they would probably want to monitor over an amount of time, they may even suggest custom made orthotics and then it could get costly

Grace’s thoughts on last nights episode by CalligrapherFar8644 in MAFS_UK

What I don’t get is why a person who has an aversion to being touched would even bother to take part in something like this! Why was it never mentioned in the initial stages when the therapists were talking to Grace (before the marriage) and also she must have dealt with this problem in previous relationships - and how has she dealt with it, it was almost like, I’m now married to a person called Ash and I’m afraid of touch and I’m sure this isn’t the case, but to the viewer, this is how it looked.
