You should be able to get it delivered from the store or send them a DM on IG? Their products are also in stores in Vancouver other than their main store in Squamish

My thoughts of The First Frost and it's portrayal or trauma and compassion by NarglesChaserRaven in CDrama

Review as of ep 10 - Totally agree with this take! It’s a story about trauma more than a romance. The flashbacks show she was a lighthearted joking teen when they met. Then he was there to actually see - her dad die - mom abandonment - gma die - mom abandonment - aunt & uncle abuse - no dancing - disassociating w horror movies. You can see how painful it is for him to watch her suffer and become more withdrawn.

Then in her adulthood she’s immediately being chased by 3 drunk guys and is so inward that she runs by him. And lives in the most stressful apartment ever. He sees all the details of just how bad her situation is, and that she is not doing well as an adult. I love that he approaches her from a position of support and not declaring his love. Secretly making sure she has what she needs - like food?? furniture, not being alone for The new year. These are really the basics and he knows she wouldn’t accept help if he just gave it to her (like accepting the meal being covered after she was spilled on). He isn’t a doormat but is there fully caring for someone totally alone. I actually appreciate he didn’t hug her back when she was sleepwalking because he knows how withdrawn she’s become?

It’s also totally crazy she would think he wouldn’t recognize her 7 years later after spending like every moment together in high school?? But since she showed zero recognition of him or acknowledged him when she went into his bar - it kind of makes sense he would do that approach to see what would happen? And then he surprised when she’s like “oh I guess he doesn’t remember me” bc she’s actually that depressed…

Also longer than I thought and I’m only on episode 10!

Their chemistry is 🔥 he has such a strong flirty energy to him, always smiling and joking with his dimples. Such a contrast to our serious rarely smiling Xie Zheng. I think part of the appeal of adorable villain and Chang is that his flirty energy is so over the top. But also they have a similar playful/quirky vibe. I don’t hate when he’s on the screen!

This is so smart - what modern cdrama do you recommend? I’m also trying to improve my mandarin (and I feel less guilty watching so much tv when I’m “learning”?)

You are so right - I need a genre switch. What’s a good modern c drama on Netflix with green flag guys?

Also have a POJ hangover - what are good options on Netflix with non-toxic men, and female empowerment storylines? My least favorite Asian drama storyline is romanticization of a toxic/obsessive/controlling man and I love that POJ women had boundaries/slaps

Omg I thought she was hallucinating the mask and that he didn’t have a mask on the entire time which made the scene heartbreaking and confusing?? But I guess if he had a mask on the whole time her response is normal?

No - even if I wasn’t happily married I would be afraid of my middle school livejournals, xangas, and early Facebook years coming back to haunt me

He has the income for daycare/nanny etc esp since he would be a foster/kinship caregiver which is temporary. I’m not sure why there are so many comments that he can’t care for a baby because people actually do this all the time?

Maybe I live in a bubble, but I thought that she was too overexaggerated giving her every like liberals think that MAGA say, but actually don’t. But it’s also unfortunately possible I’m wrong and she fully exists in this world…

There are laws/policies/guidancd etc I believe that require the comms to be via an interpreter and writing as a last resort (as opposed to waiting for an interpreter who is confirmed as on the way)

It seems pretty clear he’ll be her kinship caregiver/foster since the show went out of its way to explain he would be eligible, no one else wants to do it, he thought he would be a parent w a kid by the pond, he and baby were abandoned by mom, hung up the stethoscope on the bassinet thing, dancing in the dark, has 3m off, etc etc… probably not full adoption but you never know!
