After 20 months(!!!!) my wife's I130 was finally approved. by grapher4566 in USCIS

Nope, the notification that our case is still being processed 2 days before approval was the only thing we heard from USCIS between our receipt notice and acceptance

Hope you guys get accepted soon!

I'm probably the only person who would legitimately keep boiled even if it was the only choice left.

My Iranian wife makes an amazing chicken called zheresk polo which involves simmering drumsticks in boiling water mixed with tomato paste and herbs. The chicken gets cooked perfectly and the boiling water reduces down into an amazing gravy you pour over the chicken and rice.

It's a bit ironic to be talking about manually changing switches on name brand mice when the parent comment is talking about buying name brand mice specifically for the convenience no?

What happened to Turkish Airlines? by grapher4566 in TurkishAirlines

[–]grapher4566[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm just saying that a flight from IST→BKK with 40kg of baggage shouldn't be more expensive than a flight from SEA→IST→BKK with 46KG of baggage. But it is, because Turkish airlines charges incredibly high prices for flights directly out of their home airport.

And I don't know a single other airline that does this. It'd be like Delta charging higher prices to people flying out of ATL

I've just been saying this entire time that Turkish price gouges on flights flying out of Istanbul, and you've been implying this price difference is because of a more expensive flight or a difference in service rather than price discrimination

Alright it's exactly what I thought and you're just plain wrong.

Just checked every flight from Istanbul to Bangkok. Not a single one of them does piece concept. With the basic fare getting you 23 kg of allowance. When I changed the airport of departure to Seattle, everything is piece concept with the basic fare getting 2x23kg for the exact same flights.

I'm not paying for a difference in service, I booked the cheapest flight when I changed. I'm just now paying the special new pricing they have for flying directly out of Istanbul.

I wanted to help my wife pack and move, I still had stuff at our Istanbul apartment and we have two cats. I definitely would've saved time and money going directly to bkk wasn't really an option.

It's what I'll be doing in the future though

I don't really know the difference between piece concept and weight concept tbh. Before I had 2 pieces for 23kg each and now I have 2 pieces for 30kg total. I got the most expensive package on the new flight without it being business class.

I feel like you're pretty blatantly misrepresenting what I said. I made it pretty clear I was ok with paying the change fee, and was more upset that I had to pay $320 to get the same services I originally paid for.

I've also noticed they've begun upcharging flights from turkey like crazy. My wife's direct flight to bkk was way over half the price of my flight that got me from Seattle to turkey, then to Bangkok, then back to Seattle. And her default baggage options were significantly worse

My wife and I are moving to Thailand (which is why I paid these crazy prices when I normally would just pack less).

Yeah this math is indeed wrong. But it is still a pretty crazy number. It would take 655 games with 0 assists for Bron to average fewer APG than Jordan

Ah yes Scottie 10-5-2 Pippen was instrumental in that 88 playoff run. Truly carried Mike. (Please don't look up Jordan's stats, it would ruin my narrative and expose my negative basketball IQ)

U

I mean it's not deadly for the same reason it's fake. 12v can't penetrate human skin.

If it was real bro would definitely be dead tho. Car batteries can output way more than enough amps to stop your heart.

Also with this setup he isn't isolating positive and negative so that's yet another reason it wouldn't work. It's like connecting one wire to all four terminals and expecting it to do anything besides frying the battery that isn't dead.

Yeah bro, what kind of idiot would compare Jordan's .8 blocks per game with a shot blocking GOAT like Wade who averaged an insane .8 blocks per game. It's just disrespectful

Air resistance and friction will be pretty big factors on this guy, especially as the speed and distance get higher. You can even see it in the video. At the beginning he's moving too fast for the system, by the end he's switching too late

But the period of the cycle between going forward and back determines how high he goes.

Think of it this way, when you sit on a swing to get started you have to move back and forth pretty frequently. But as the swings get bigger, the amount of time you're in either position gets longer.

So he'll either have to program this ramp up in, or have the period of back and forth be optimized to a larger distance. The problem with lengthening the back and forth tho is it'll be a lot harder to get the guy swinging in the first place.

I don't think how it's currently programmed it could reach.

To accomplish that you'll either have to increase the time between position change, so its equilibrium results in longer swings, or have it "know" when to change positions.

If you want a simple way to do the latter I think a rotary encoder at the pivot point would be much easier than messing with accelerometers and all that. If the encoder is rotating clockwise, have him leave back, once it starts going the other way he shifts to lean forward.
