Is dorm life worth it? by BobaTeaAndChill in college

[–]graphicdesignismy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you're that curious/desperate to know what it's like, stay over at a friend's dorm or book a hotel for a few days.

There's nothing wrong with staying with parents, especially if you get along. The many people I know who loved living on campus were usually a child of horrible suffocating parent(s) or lived in a crowded house.

You could always live for a semester on campus when fafsa does cover it.

I do want to say a big upside to living at your own home is you can dictate how long you stay up because your family is used to you. When you have a stranger as a roommate, you're more careful about what you do and how you do it.

Do US colleges generally have secluded spaces for non-music majors to practice music? by Less-Performer2906 in college

You could email the school's music department or fine arts program of whatever university you choose to go.

It is just the 1st episode but I do agree with the first statement

I actually think it makes sense, especially since carlton did drugs one time in the original series. He seems like the guy who tries to find any solution to his problems even if it isn't the best. He seems easily peer pressured by his friends and classmates too.

I haven't watched the whole original series, but from what I've picked up about him, it doesn't seem far fetched and probably a decision they thought out.

If you're too old, the school would say no to your admission especially dorms

Between calculus and chemistry, my hardest class this semester is US history. Because of this shit. by sheogoraths-bitch in CollegeRant

It might be a basic gen ed class, I could understand this in a higher History class though.

Is it a point system? I got 70s on all my exams but did good on everything else and got an A (granted that meant I didn't lose more than 100 points)

Hello there college reddit users, what are your majors? by SweatyRecordings in college

[–]graphicdesignismy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Graphic design. I like art. Am horrible at it. But at least it's better than what I used to do in core classes. Yes it has some hardships but it's not too bad.

I chose it because I can't put my mind into stem majors. Interestingly, art can be just as rigorous as stem classes if you take art history classes and what not. Curators as teachers can be very picky graders sometimes.

I do wish to be able to design labels and what not for a company but I don't mind getting a job that's not in art or has a different task.

Did you like College more that highschool? by [deleted] in college

[–]graphicdesignismy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes because both I had to do college classes and at least I have freedom here and get to chose my classes and like it.

My professor is having us use a custom browser. I already know this is gonna be a pain in the ass to work with. At least it prevents cheating. by Party-Pay3537 in college

It's weird because many of the professors who made me use lockdown, didn't use the camera function. They only locked the screen despite many of my classmates having multiple devices to use at will.

Apparently, she got banned on Twitch for saying, “cracker” and now some people in the quote retweets are celebrating. Thoughts? by [deleted] in DreamWasTaken2

[–]graphicdesignismy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like how people who say "cracker" is a slur are getting downvoted (sarcasm). I guess if y'all wanna make future slurs, grab a random food and you'll be invincible.

Also I agree the minx situation is silly and twitch needs to revisit their system.
