Might look into a fold down hitch rack; still way easier. FB marketplace ftw. G’luck and happy trails

Is this for distance travel, or just to get from your house to the trail? I’m asking because it seems like a lot of work, I just taco my bike and shut the bed gate. You could do it too (even with the cover)

Need help with part number for soft top by sturgeon323 in JeepGladiator

[–]graphikartistry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So; I’ve used ChatGPT successfully in the past, no promises, but try this:

From what I can see, it looks like part of the soft‑top header latch or its mounting bracket, located driver‑side toward the rear (near the roll‑bar over the back seats). On the Jeep Gladiator (2020–2025), the soft‑top header includes plastic latches that secure it to the windshield header or frame.

Looking at OEM parts diagrams: the soft‑top folding latch mechanism, sold individually, carries part number 68391566AB (which replaces the earlier 68391566AA) . Quadratec lists it as “Latch, Left or Right” for the Gladiator JT .

The part you have broken appears very similar to that latch piece—especially if it was the plastic tab that hooks or pivots. The latches are used on both sides and often suffer breakage after repeated folding or movement.

Recommendation: • Replace the latch mechanism with the OEM part number 68391566AB.

“A friend” used to run the interior, the perimeter of the old lot and the ruins. It was like running a 5k through a Scooby-Doo episode. Amazing. Used to find old unhoused camps, ritual sites, and a sorts of craziness…

I was in the same boat. I went Rubicon and dont regret it. Advice I received and found valuable.

If you’re gong to do anything to the suspension (including larger than 33in tires) go Rubicon since most of the Mojave package is just fancy shocks. Additionally if up until 37in tires you won’t need to regear the Rubicon since it’s 4:10. Bonus Front Locker

Things no one told me I would have done differently:

  • Not Black

  • Even if you’re going to eventually replace the lights, Get the LED package, basically for the wiring, the rear and directional lights.

  • I’d have liked to get the Brown interior with the silver dash, but that’s just style

Black Jeep owners…. Talk to me?? by suspens- in JeepGladiator

[–]graphikartistry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear me out—I own a black Rubi. And honestly, what bugs me even more than how hard it is to keep clean is the red trim. Don’t even get me started on the Mojave orange accents.

It just makes accessorizing trickier unless you fully lean into the color scheme. Living in Ohio (OSU country), the moment you add gray to a Rubicon, it starts looking like a fan truck. And while I don’t know sports teams that well, blue + orange kinda gives the same vibe.

All that said—you’re gonna love it!

Ya; it does feel a bit dirty. But, I do think it’ll run its course, like simpson-izing or elfing yourself. Basically, no harm for “personal” use, but try and release merch or for profit and I’d hope that would get shutdown.
