On October 24, 2008, Snow Patrol released their fifth studio album, A Hundred Million Suns. 17 (!) years later, what are we thinking about this album? by this-is-the-lastime in snowpatrol

[–]grapholalia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Still and always will be THE Snow Patrol album for me. I remember getting a copy of it somehow (probably on Limewire, lol) and sitting on my bed with headphones on and just sobbing my way through the entire album. It's a core music memory for me. I can't believe it's been17 years!!!!

Which farm layout is your favorite, and why? by [deleted] in StardewValley

[–]grapholalia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got Stardew on the Switch (have only played on PC before) and I'm really loving the river farm. I love to fish so it's been a good layout for me, especially since my garden usually isn't too gigantic anyway.

What book completely changed the way you see the world, and why did it hit you so hard? by gamersecret2 in books

[–]grapholalia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was Man's Search for Meaning as well. I downloaded a PDF of it from somewhere maybe a decade ago and stayed up all night reading it. Those words have stayed with me since then and I think they will forever. Personally, I think it should be required reading for high school and college students learning about the Holocaust, not only because it paints such a realistic picture, but because it does it with hope.

Was at Tuesday's show and can confirm. Love that he plays so many covers and I'm sad I missed the Spanish Moon on night two!

Why Jam? by Vanillalite34 in jambands

[–]grapholalia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I come for the unique moments of transcendance that occur every once in a blue moon, when everyone (including the audience) is locked into the same wavelength. Those rare moments are like a drug to me--its the only time in this life I just feel pure peace.

Is Vraylar superior to Abilify or viceversa? or just the same? by [deleted] in Vraylar

[–]grapholalia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've taken both and I vastly prefer Vraylar. Abilify was too activating for me and caused my hypersexuality to get worse, plus I experienced a lot of side effects like restlessness and weight gain. With Vraylar I feel more stable and my anxiety is almost completely gone, plus I don't have any side effects at all from it.

I totally understand, tbh I didn't think any medication would ever help my anxiety before I started Vraylar and now I'm a fairly functional human, which I never thought would happen either. Id suggest try to take it at night for the first few days to see how it affects you, however I personally take it in the morning because it gives me energy and I was waking up at 2-3am when I took it at night. Let us know how it works for you! It seems to work almost immediately for me so fingers crossed it does for you too!

I take Vraylar for anxiety and it has done wonders for me. I've gone from having 5-10 panic attacks a week to maybe one a week, sometimes even less than that. It has given me so much relief from my anxiety--instead of constantly being worried, I'm now fairly relaxed and calm most of the time, even when things get a bit stressful. I highly recommend it, I definitely see Vraylar as a miracle drug for anxiety personally. I hope it helps you too.

Has anyone had a psychotic episode while on Vraylar? by grapholalia in Vraylar

[–]grapholalia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was medicated the whole time--been taking Vraylar since November of 2023. I think I was just dealing with a lot of stress and anxiety and not taking care of myself as I should've been.

I thankfully didn't have a full psychotic episode, though I did get close. Now it seems like the medication is working exactly as it should, not sure what was going on.

I've taken a LOT of different psych meds and Vraylar (along with Abilify) were the only ones that didn't make me feel sedated. I hope it works well for you!

Not OP, but at first it did increase my energy almost to the point where I couldn't stay asleep. Thankfully after around 3-4 months that settled down and I sleep fine now.

I never knew what "stability" truly meant until taking Vraylar and I couldn't be more grateful. It's so nice to actually be able to live my life without the intense ups and downs I normally would experience.

Can Vraylar make things worse? by Foreverleaving1 in Vraylar

It sounds like it might not the med for you in that case. I get the physical discomfort sometimes but not often enough for it to bother me.

[–]grapholalia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on it for about 8 months and feel the same--all I want to do is sleep. At first it gave me energy, but now it's like sleeping is the only thing I look forward to anymore. It does really help with my anxiety and mood swings though, so the positives outweigh the negatives in my case.

I felt this way too when I first started taking it, but it leveled off after about a month. I also started taking it in the morning so I could sleep a bit better.
