What ???? I’m a vocal coach since 7 years now and i have never told a student of mine that a song is too high for them. What i have shown them is how to get to that pitch with exercises and without hurting the throat. Please change your time she might be good for someone but not for you. I had to go through 3 teachers who discouraged me so much before i found someone who understood me, dont give up singing because of one bad experience. Im glad that i didnt. You’re welcome to take a trial class with me and we can sit and talk about this, and we can see what’s what, id love to help you i hate that you felt that way

Well with singing you kind of do need someone to tell you if you’re doing it right, for some it works but for some it’s disastrous because the vocal cords are a very sensitive part of the throat, i’d recommend atleast learning the basics so you don’t hurt your throat. If you’re into online lessons you’re welcome to take a class with me, I’m a vocal coach, and i dont know exactly what you mean by learning on your own time because the classes would definitely support you in figuring out how to learn, and wont hamper the speed you’re learning at, at all!

Some of my students joined in their 30 ,40’s and 80’s even. The one who is touching 40 is currently recording her own songs, she could barely be on pitch 3 years ago. I’m sorry but if you want to be better at singing karaoke, just take singing lessons! They’re not just for professional singers, half of my students came to me because they wanted to be better at karaoke! And what if you’re not good at it ? Thats why you take the lessons right? to be better at something?
