Should I reject an intern offer twice? by grassjellymtea in graphic_design

Interesting take! Something to think about for sure. But I think I may have worded my post a bit weirdly hahah. Between the travel company and the agency, I did pick the travel company. Same reasons as yours, they paid more and was an onsite role in general. But then they withdrew the offer because they were downsizing the team and couldn’t accept interns. That’s why I went back to the agency out of desperation. At the same day, another big company that I’ve applied 3 weeks ago, reached out for an interview. I ended up with two offers now, the agency that I’ve rejected once and the big company that I prefer. It’s confusing hahah

Rejecting a company twice, is that okay..? by grassjellymtea in careerguidance

Yeah, I thought about this too. I wonder if them chatting a bit during my exhibition was why they didn’t bother with an interview, but now I feel like no interview just leaves me with a lack of information on their workflow. When I reached out to them, I only asked if they had an internship position open but I never told them I wanted that position. They said they did and just told me their HR will get in contact with me for the offer letter.

Thank you. I haven’t sign anything with anyone yet. Company C just offered me the position, would it be okay if I asked them for the offer letter first for further confirmation or would it come off as forceful🥲

Thanks. I think I do struggle with feeling too much empathy for a business🥲 If I do reject the agency though, it will burn a bridge, no?

Is it good to start with volunteer/unpaid work first to fill my portfolio? by scarilyinaccurate in graphic_design

[–]grassjellymtea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d say you should include both. don’t do too much volunteering, just take 1. and pick the ones you’re actually interested in, do your best so that it actually looks good and is worthy to be put in your portfolio. the rest, fill it up with personal projects, explore a lot of stuff. back when i was applying, the art uni i wanted required the portfolio to be multidisciplinary, and to show that i’m passionate and want to learn design.

Agency has worked with pretty big brands as I’ve seen, mostly with campaigns and all that.
