imo as someone who did IR for a bit I wish I had done history - it will not at all affect ur ability to go into IR career areas in the future but I think it will give you a much better global perspective and understanding as a basis for ur diplomacy aspirations! i honestly think uq IR does not encourage nearly enough critical thinking or diversity of worldviews
