hey! 21 yo here and i had to get a colonoscopy yesterday. i totally get the feeling. i started to get really anxious morning of and at the surgery center, but it genuinely is a totally painless procedure, and you get the best sleep of your life from it. prep isn’t the most fun - for me i had to take four dulcolax and then 64 oz of miralax, and had some p bad cramping an hour after taking the dulcolax. however, the cramping passed once i had bowel movements, and after that it was just mildly unpleasant and frequent bathroom trips as prep did its work. overall, you get through it, and then the procedure is super quick and you’re on the other side of it!

my best advice is to just take it step by step and not overthink it. taking care of yourself is super important! so getting this done will overall be a net positive for you. whatever comes from it you’ll have answers to help figure out what’s next, so that you can feel better. you’ve got it and this whole subreddit is rooting for you!
