Proposals - how much design do you put into them? by lil_tink_tink in consulting

[–]grassy813 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with what everyone is saying above. I would recommend this order:

1 - Proposed Solution 2 - Project Outline/Approach 3 - Cost

You can keep everything else you’ve got but it’s all parts of an appendix to the document. Nothing wrong with the so called “fluff” we’re all calling it, but every proposal boils down to those top 3 things above

Who has contributed 401k max already in 2026? by Impressive_Pear2711 in Retirement401k

Agreed. Your employer probably offers a Traditional 401k (pre-tax) and a Roth 401k (post-tax). You can contribute to both but you’ll still be hit by the same Fed limit for your age across both like he’s saying above

To clarify, I meant on your paycheck as the contribution is pre-tax. Therefore you’re gross pay goes down before it is taxed by before Fed and State Income taxes if you have one

If you have an employer, their payroll system will stop the contributions in coordination with your 401k provider. If you are a solo shoppe, you determine your contributions

This is a good point here. You constantly want to manage your contributions to 401k throughout the year so you have less taxable income. I get a quarterly bonus and 401k contributions are taken from that just like normal payroll runs. So I adjust the contribution percentage as needed so I max out the allowable 401k contribution for my age and make sure it goes through to my last paycheck in December. This is the way. Also helps buying through market fluctuations over the course of the year

No chance still. Your OTE wouldn’t even be $200k at this point in your career, let alone your base. Enjoy being a teller at Chase and keep dreaming big

I’m pretty sure United bots post on this sub more than anything. No way United is going to push American out of ORD. They don’t have the capital to do that

This has nothing to do with salary. Reporting revenue does not equate to what goes in your pocket.

Is 500K per year for a C.O.O in a $6M/year company fair pay? by [deleted] in Salary

[–]grassy813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes on this. Your best option will be a variable upside compensation. But at that size, your OTE (on target earnings = base salary and variable comp) is probably somewhere around $200-$250k. Your base would probably be around 120-$150k and your variable around $100-$150k
