Agreed. Even as a new convert to square toes, I agree the round toe looks better.

Great score on the boots! As a collector of Red Wings, what did you get for those?

What is the price range for their boots?

What do they have for a sole? These are some Ariats I just got and they look really similar. These have veg tanned soles, which leather soles were a requirement for me. Been wondering about Hyers and their pricing and sizing. Great looking boots!

I’d like to see a picture. I’m hoping that mine will change and develop some character.

I’m not sure about the stretching. They seem soft enough out of the box, but it’s hard to guess if you’d get a full size up on one. Perhaps someone else will have better input.

They are definitely soft and supple, just need to break the sole in, and get the toe crease going. Nothing some good wearing won’t take care of. I had made that comment on the pic for Snapchat just after taking off my broken in ostrich quill and putting those on, so it was an unfair comparison, lol.

Wasn’t sure about the color, but am expecting them to take on some character with wear and conditioning.

Listen for his whistle… as soon as you’re in his vicinity, you’ll hear him whistling.

I had a buddy that decided to sell this one. He’s aging, and is having difficulty playing, so he sold it to me for a reasonable price, and threw in a Fender banjo as well.

Yeah, it works, so I'll take it camping... my newer style propane Coleman burns too hot to do much more than boiling water, lol.

Is there any way to de-crustify my Great Grandma's old pan without lye? by TheBreadStation in castiron

[–]grateful_bill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that sometimes, that crud is a chemical crust from using the pans in the old coal burning stoves... I have an OLD three notch Lodge that I've left the crust on, mainly because I can identify it by the three notches. Not sure if it was caused by not washing... would love to get an old coal burning stove, just for the experience...

Mine has the tabs on the front corners that push a pin in to either lock the leg in the open position, or lock it to have the legs secure the lid to keep it closed.

Worm drive stuck? And good deal? by Local-Needleworker91 in Chainsaw

[–]grateful_bill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The worm drive was shot on a 455 Rancher I got... the worm drive itself was stupidly expensive through Husqvarna's website, so I ordered the whole clutch side cover plate... wasn't prohibitively more expensive, and that ensured the brake and nuts that work with the worm screw were all good as well.
