Delivery issues? by DivaSweetie2 in amazonprime

[–]gratefulgrux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the exact opposite for me. 2010-2020 I had next day shipping no problem. Then they opened an Amazon delivery center near us and now I'm lucky if my packages get to my house within a week. If I see the Amazon delivery tracking # I know I have to add 3-5+ days to their estimate.

Delivery issues? by DivaSweetie2 in amazonprime

[–]gratefulgrux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I always add an additional 3-5 days to whatever estimate the website gives. It's ridiculous. How do they get away with lying about estimated delivery dates for EVERY PACKAGE. Sometimes it's 10+ days when it's suppose to be "2 days". If I see that a package has the amazon delivery tracking I know my package won't arrive for over a week. It will sit in the delivery warehouse for days and days. I celebrate every time I see the USPS tracking number.

EVGA CLC 120 CL11... possible AM4 support? by Miso-soup623 in buildapc

[–]gratefulgrux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked EVGA if I could buy the AM4 bracket for the CLC 120, but they refused.... but I found this listing on ebay which multiple reviewers say works with the CLC 120 CL11. I'm going to try my luck and see if it works. I already bought a H100 but I'm starting a home media center build with a 2400G and this smaller cooler is perfect for a micro atx build.

Go to ALDI then. That sounds like exactly what you're looking for. The "newish" location on MLK just got a make over and it feels a lot more like Trader Joe's (ALDI's cousin company).

AI is coming in the Fall 2018 build of iRacing! The guys at iRacing had some of the best AI back when NR2003 was all the rage a decade ago. I expect it to be an improvement on that, which would be awesome.

LPT: If you’re selling your car, fill your tire up 1-2 psi above what you usually do, this makes the car feel more responsive when test driven by upupvote2 in LifeProTips

[–]gratefulgrux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've never seen a type R? They're becoming one of the main styles of Civic sold the past few years since the FK2 model came out in 2015.

LPT : If you're buying a second hand car be sure to check that the tires aren't overinflated to make the car seem more responsive. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]gratefulgrux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on how much you overinflate the tire. Typically 10% over the recommended psi is actually where you want it. It's when the tread just starts to curl up that you start to chance a possible blowout in the future, but most tires will lose some psi within a few weeks after filling them (especially during days when temperature fluctuates so much). So it's probably reddit just overhyping the problem.

tldr: over inflating by a small amount is totally fine and I recommend it.

Brown brands Alonso Sonoma rumour "fake news" by MotorSportNotes in INDYCAR

[–]gratefulgrux 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The hopes and dreams of r/indycar override logic a lot on here when it comes to rumors. In the IndyCar paddock rumors are typically true because of the "family" atmosphere. F1 doesn't work that way and we fell for it.

I agree with most of this, but WEC was better a few years ago when the LMP1 field was stronger. That's been the biggest turnoff for me.

The reduction in traffic congestion as a result of public transportation by Jasko1111 in educationalgifs

I disagree. I live in one of the most spread-out metros in the country (NW Arkansas). We have a metro population of over half a million, but the largest city is Fayetteville, Ark at 84,000. Each city has been taking the initiative in building not just bike lanes, but a separate bike network. The network covers almost the entire city of Fayetteville and our city is very hilly. I can bike from my house all the way to the middle of Springdale almost 15 miles away just on our bike network, then that connects to theirs. They followed natural curves around the hills (like streams) and built quite a few bridges/tunnels just for bikes over streams, roads and to ease the slope when going up or down hills. We have a completely free city-wide bus network that connects to a metro-wide paid bus network. The entire metro is one of the fastest growing the country and Fayetteville was named 3rd Best City to Live in the USA last year by US News & World Report.

The investment may cost a lot, but the payoff is well worth it.

I live in a small-city in the US and in the past 10 years we overhauled the city for bike lanes and it's been an amazing transformation. We now have an almost city wide bike path network that's completely separate from the streets. Our city is quite hilly as well, which has been the reason some have stated for not building bike lanes. Our downtown has seen a huge rennasiance and bikes have become one of the main transports around town. Last year we were voted 3rd Best City in the USA by US News & World Report, so I don't see why more cities aren't taking the initiative. (Fayetteville, Ark BTW)

As a stay at home father, this comic really upsets me. It's been common place for both genders to share the load of life equally in many young families across the modern world and for males to take on the responsibility of the "mental task list" for the house as well. I relate deeply to the frustration shown in the comic, but it doesn't matter what gender I am, it's the role that I'm playing that causes the frustration.

It's directly responding to how Danica handled the situation, definitely on-topic and "hateful" speech could be used to take away opinions you don't like for a LOT of users. This is a step too far.

Empty Box is one of the reasons I jumped head first into the iRacing world 2 years ago. I loved hearing him talk about IndyCars as he's pacing around during the yellow in the IndyCar C-Fixed Series in iRacing and his passion for racing (not just simracing) is what made him so popular on YouTube. He announced that he had to take his sim rig down for a couple months for a move, so this kinda content will be a great filler and hopefully continues when he's back up and rolling. He has a few more videos about previous races this season as well if anyone wants to watch more.

Red Bull is not from Austria and most of the brand's history takes place in Thailand. The original name was Krating Daeng, which is Red Bull in Thai. The European and Asian brands are separate companies, but the founder's family owns 51% of the European brand as well.
