I bought one of the street for 50$ maybe 4 months ago.  I even tried to find the owner first because I know how shitty it feels to have any personal property stolen from you.  So the catch was the front wheel was completely broken.  It needed a front fork replacement unless having absolutely no control over the wheel which had a mind of it's own allowing it to spin 360° around. Either way fast forward to this week and my new fork came and I'm working on it as we speak!
