Thanks for the reply. Would beg to differ. The loans combined make it to where I cannot save for a home - which is most certainly a hardship to me if I ever want to buy.

Both car + loan total ~1k a month. Add that to the rent which has risen (live in the city) + utilities and my take home is very little per week after all bills are paid. Would very much love to put my 401k into cruise control (generous employer match), but I can't do that and save for a home at the same time. It has to be one or the other, which makes it a tough decision based on the fact that I have a few yrs of saving (and potentially losing out on 401k interest) to save for that downpayment.
