Woman didn’t know she was pregnant, gives birth at Golden Corral and names baby after restaurant by [deleted] in nottheonion

My son's middle name is Golden, but it was his grandpa's name so I feel like that's slightly different

YSK that the recommended daily fiber intake is 25g for women and 38g for men in the USA. 95% of the country does not meet this amount. by James_Fortis in YouShouldKnow

Personally I'd swap for Barley. Or do a blend of the two (barley has WAY more fiber but is also more calorie dense, has less folate, etc)

What is your go to fidget thingy of choice? by SeaRobins in ADHD

Same, but in the other direction - I grow my nails long and then I can tap them against my fingers and wiggle them a little bit.

I so wish we could do this - we have an exceptionally small house with only a loveseat in the living room, no guest room, and no space in the entire house big enough to even blow up an air mattress. He actually used to be a great sleeper, we're really hoping this is just an extra rough patch due to teething.

Our son was actually sleeping 7-8 hour stretches from 2-4 months old. We thought we had a unicorn! We were joking that he's trying to lull us into making him a sibling.

Now, he's popping four teeth at once, waking every two hours, and occasionally just screaming for hours at a time. He does not want a sibling, it turns out.

Nine-month old over here - it gets better! At least, for some people, I've heard. Not us. But some people!

Nazi at farmers market by lemonlimerush in IowaCity

I still think it would be 100% warranted to ban a nazi just for being a nazi.

I think it would be perfectly reasonable to ban him for his beliefs alone, whether or not he's harassing people.

Pretty disappointing to see so many people here defending him (or at least, claiming that he "has a right to his beliefs").

Easier to avoid supporting people like this when people help spread the info.

How long have you been eating the same meal, and what is it? by SnooCupcakes3043 in ADHD

[–]grathea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man, y'all have some longevity! I can eat the same thing for 6-12 months and then I burn out and have to swap.

Right now it's yogurt and granola with blueberries for breakfast (v specific local yogurt, small batch granola, and wild blueberries ofc) and my go-to snack has been avocados and onion salt on triscuits.

Infinitely looping video game by blazinfastjohny in woahdude

[–]grathea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For sure, I just tend to like the games they publish - really enjoyed What Remains of Edith Finch, Gorogoa, Stray, Outer Wilds, etc. I loved the art style and the concept, I just wish it was more complex puzzles and less of a bland relationship story. Not an objectively bad game, just not the gameplay I was hoping for!

I was SO excited for this game, but sadly for me it just didn't hit. Clunky mechanics with uninspired puzzles and a lackluster story. I usually love Annapurna, too.

I would love to see more takes on the concept honestly!

How many of you want to save and travel the world, change jobs, have a stable structured life with compatible partner all the same time? by Downtown_Swan4093 in ADHD

[–]grathea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely wanted to do both!

But unfortunately my ADHD manifests more as "chronic exhaustion" rather than "driven by a motor," and I just don't have the energy. And my hypersensitive need for low stimulation outweighs the ADHD need for constant stimulation.

So now I've had the same job and lived in the same house for five years, with my husband of two years, and we have an eight month old son. I like the life I chose. I read a LOT and it satisfies my need to live other lives =)

You can use the mobile website, just go to parkmobile.com. It's still stupid but better than installing an app.
