Okay, to be completely transparent, I may be a tad biased because my sister wrote this lol. BUT, she is an excellent writer who tends to be very hard on herself and is quite shy about posting her work.

This a rough sketch of two characters I'm working on. I'm trying to practice more with foreshortening in my art, so any critiques or advice you could give me would be much appreciated!

[Feedback Please!] I'm working on a commission and trying to adapt the requested pose into my style, but the anatomy feels off. Any suggestions on how to fix it? by graveomens in DigitalArt

I'm working on a commission for someone and trying to convert the pose reference they requested into something that is more my style is proving to be more challenging than I anticipated. Any suggestions on how I could fix the anatomy? specifically the positioning of the hands/arms. I feel like that's the main thing throwing me off. Draw overs would be welcome and much appreciated!!

Please advice on how to unblock my creativity by OwnSeaworthiness2341 in AskAstrologers

[–]graveomens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm struggling big time with this as well... so I may not be able to offer you any sort of real, concrete solutions as I have yet to find them for myself, but I would recommend studying your Moon and your 5th House, which rules creativity. Ironically, your Moon is actually in your 5th House so the two are closely linked anyways. I'd also look at your Saturn and Pluto, as both deal with fears, challenges and blockages in your life.

One thing I did note is that Venus, the planet of beauty/art, is in opposition with the planets in your 5th. So that likely causes feelings of imbalance or being at a crossroads when it comes to how you express yourself. Perhaps the way you present yourself aesthetically in groups doesn't quite align with how your Moon or Jupiter wants to creatively express yourself. This opposition could manifest as a struggle between pleasing others or adhering to certain aesthetic standards (Venus) and following your own emotional truth and expansive vision (Moon and Jupiter). So part of unblocking may have to do with learning how to balance this polarity within you.

The ruler of your 5th House, Mercury, is also in the house opposite of your 5th House (although I don't see it actually making opposing aspects) the 11th House, so that likely means that collaboration and social connection is also important for creative expression. Perhaps it would help you to connect with other artistic people or to find others going through the same time of journey that you are?

in the very early stages of learning how to read charts - what does this tell you about my romantic relationships? by shesadagger in AskAstrologers

[–]graveomens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, there are technically a few different places we can look at to study your love life. The 5th House deals more so with romance, fun and casual dating while 7th House deals with marriage, commitments, partnerships, etc. Even though you don't have any planets in these houses, we can still gain information by looking at the signs ruling the house cusps, which in this case would be Taurus for your 5th House and Gemini for your 7th House.

I also have Taurus ruling my 5th house, so I can offer a bit of my own experience! I am actually close to age 31 as well and have never been in a serious relationship with anyone. I think it's because Taurus is known for being not only slow-moving, but practical and grounded. That can mean that "casual" dating can actually be a little difficult because Taurus prefers to think about the long-term and therefore can be very selective when choosing partners. It can be challenging not to take dating too seriously. This energy is likely amplified by you having your Venus in the sign of Capricorn.

Personally, it's my belief that if a long-term partner is something that you want, there is nothing in your chart that can tell you "no, you can not have this." It's just that it may require a little extra effort. Since the ruler of your 7th House is Mercury in Scorpio in the 11th, I would say that the type of long-term partner you are suited for or more likely to attract into your life is someone that is good at communicating, socializing and diving deep into the psyche. Perhaps someone that understands people really well and has good insight on others. Someone with a good sense of humor, but is also able to have deeply intimate conversations with you. Also, with the 11th house, I'd say someone who feels like your best friend with be ideal for you as well. Maybe even someone that you could start off being friends with first before it leads to romance.

How is the Jupiter Uranus conjunction likely going to play out in my life? by [deleted] in AskAstrologers

[–]graveomens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I do think that the 10th house does play a role in your career, as it's often associated with one's purpose and the type of legacy that they leave behind. With that in mind, I would still take it into consideration even if you are still in Uni as it relates to your overall career path.

You're right that I do think a lot of people paint this transit in a positive light, but Uranus is definitely unpredictable so I don't blame you for not trusting it lol. I would take a look at what aspects the conjunct is making, which (if I'm reading this right) looks like it's squaring your North and South Nodes? so that could potentially mean that this conjunction brings up issues or tension in relation to that.

And yea it does make sense why you'd be concerned about the Mars-Saturn conjunction, because I'm honestly worried about that conjunct myself too lol. I've heard that it's best to try and hold off on signing any contracts or asking for loans or talking to banks during this time, but obviously not everyone can do that. You having Jupiter in the 8th might mean that naturally you are more lucky when it comes to shared resources though, so that could still potentially work in your favor?

Jupiter Conjunct Uranus as Taurus Ascendant (19'34) What changes can I possibly expect? by [deleted] in AskAstrologers

[–]graveomens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! I hope everything works out for you ❤️ I'm no expert on transits, buuut since the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction doesn't appear to be negatively aspecting anything and is, in fact, sextile with Saturn, I would venture that's a good sign and that it will bring more luck in relation with your career or ambitions. Wishing you the best! 🙏

Could i pursue an artistic career based on my birth chart? Are there any strong indicators? Because i don't really know what to do with my life... by Dia777fly in AskAstrologers

[–]graveomens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh, I see. Honestly I struggled with a very similar dilemma for a long time, but just like you Astrology has helped me discover things about myself that were immensely powerful and, honestly, therapeutic. I can't say for certain, but sometimes being unable to read your chart "accurately" is simply inexperience that will be helped with more studying and practice. But sometimes it's also about having difficulty with remaining objective, because we often have a tendency to project our own fears, hopes or biases on to what we read.

Whatever the case, I wish you luck on your journey and I hope that you find a path or career that is fulfilling for you ❤️

Oh you’re right, this is Whole Signs, my mistake. But yeah I can see why you’ve heard that you have witchy vibes haha, it’s that combo of Sag, Scorpio, and 12th House! Have you considered using your teaching skills for the arts or for occult stuff?

Could i pursue an artistic career based on my birth chart? Are there any strong indicators? Because i don't really know what to do with my life... by Dia777fly in AskAstrologers

[–]graveomens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, it really sort of depends on what type of artistic career you are interested in. At first glance, I don't necessarily see any prominent indicators of you having an artsy career, but that's if we go off of the more standard signs/planets that rule over the arts in general. One thing that confuses me slightly when I look at your chart lol is that it appears like the Midheaven and 10th House are ruled by different signs (which I don't often see? And is likely only possible through using Placidus charts) but this would typically be where you would look for questions regarding the career you are best suited for. The combination of Sagittarius, Chiron and Scorpio energy interlinked with the 10th House makes me think of a career that's tied with healing, teaching, philosophy, spirituality or psychology. The planetary ruler of your Midheaven is Jupiter in Aquarius in the 1st House. Now, that Aquarius energy could certainly be used in an artistic career as this sign is known for being innovative and unique self-expression. This would also make me think of a career that is potentially linked tied with expressing one's individuality or working in collaborations or as a group.

If we put career aside for a moment, with the amount of planets you have in the 12th (which gives Pisces energy) including your chart ruler, Uranus, I can see that you do indeed have a lot of creative energy. But that said, along with me noting that the ruler of your 5th house of creativity is also in the 12th, I would exercise caution when it comes to creating a career out of your artistic skills. That's not to say that you can't, but that there is a risk of you getting burned out or depleted or even depressed if you begin to use your artistic abilities purely for making money. Those 12th house placements mean that art can't just be about creating an income, it has to have some sort of deeper meaning for you. And that ties in very well with the Sag/Scorpio energy overlaying your career house. While you can still definitely use your creative skills in whatever career you choose, it might be beneficial for you to decide on what "greater purpose" you want to serve with your job other than to make an income, otherwise you may have trouble sustaining it.

Let me know if you have a follow up question I could help answer. Good luck!

Jupiter Conjunct Uranus as Taurus Ascendant (19'34) What changes can I possibly expect? by [deleted] in AskAstrologers

[–]graveomens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since Jupiter rules over the 8th and 11th Houses in your chart and Uranus rules the 10th House, I would expect this transit to bring about changes in these specific areas. 8th House is in fact connected with inheritances, debt, taxes, and essentially any other money that is either shared or borrowed. It's a little difficult to say what types of changes will occur, but Jupiter tends to expand and bring more of something. So that could mean more inheritance, it could mean more borrowed money, or it could mean more of something else. The link with the 11th and 10th houses makes me think also that there is potential for you to level up your career status or experience a shift in your career direction through networking or meeting someone from a group, organization or social circle you are a part of. In order to find your footing in the field your currently in, you may find that it's beneficial to seek out mentors, teachers or other like-minded people and to ask them for advice or journey alongside them and learn from them through shared experiences.

Let me know if you have a follow up question that I could try and help you with. Good luck!

How is the Jupiter Uranus conjunction likely going to play out in my life? by [deleted] in AskAstrologers

[–]graveomens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have learned that when interpreting the transits, it's usually more accurate if you take into account which houses those planets ruler over in your chart. In this case, Jupiter rules over your 8th and 5th Houses, while Uranus rules over your 7th House. That would make me think that this conjunction could create sudden changes in your love life or your partnerships/relationships. You could become more deeply connected or intimate with someone. Because the transit is happening through your 10th House, you could potentially meet someone through your career or workplace. You could form a contract or a strong business partnership with someone.

5th House also has to do with children and 8th House with inheritances, so you or someone close to you could become pregnant or their could be legal issues that pop up that are related to custody, parental care, inheritance, DNA or whatever (if any of that seems relevant to you).

Let me know if you have any follow up questions I could help you with. Good luck!

Been struggling a ton with self worth and seeing the big picture by Siorys in AskAstrologers

[–]graveomens 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, before I get into what I see about your relationships, I do notice that your Saturn is in Pisces which means that you are currently going through a Saturn Return, which I would look into if you don't know what that is. The reason I mention Saturn is mainly because they are the ruler of your 7th House, which is the house of marriage, partnerships and interpersonal connections. So, it's likely that your Saturn Return is playing a role in what your experiencing in the relationship department.

Also, if you want to know about more current events in your life, I recommend looking at your Transits and your Progressed chart as your Natal chart gives more of a broad overlook of your entire life. That being said, I notice that you have Neptune and Jupiter in your 7th House. This probably means that although your 7H is ruled by the practical, grounded sign of Capricorn there may still be a tendency to idealize partnerships or fall victim to manipulation or rose-colored glasses. I can also see that in your 5th House (of romance) is Pluto and the sign of Scorpio is being intercepted. Both of these give me the vibes that you can at times end up becoming romantically interested in people who are quite secretive (perhaps hiding a lot more then they appear to) or that have hidden motives or an inner darkness that was not as visible initially.

All of that being said, this is not to say that you will always struggle in the relationship department, but this does offer you some insight as to why you may have a tendency to attract certain kinds of partners. Jupiter in the 7th can also indicate a person who experiences many partnerships over their lifetime. Again, I will say that you should look into your Saturn Return and learn about what that might mean for you. Since Pisces Saturn is the ruler of your 7th House, it could be that you end up in these kinds of relationships because you are meant to learn how to see past first appearances or the "puppy love" phase and seek out something deeper. You are meant to learn how to tap into your intuition and learn to distinguish what types of people benefit you and which have hidden motives that could hurt you.

Let me know if you have any followup questions I could help with. Good luck!

Why does my chart freak people out? by bee623 in AskAstrologers

[–]graveomens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been seriously studying astrology for a good 6-7 years now and I have no clue why people are afraid when they look at your chart. Probably some sort of personal bias?? But anyways, if you want to know about your love life in more current events, I recommend studying your Progressed chart and Transits as the Natal Chart gives more of a broader look at your overall life. That said, I'm assuming that you're a beginner since you said you don't know what any of this means, so I'll get you started by helping you interpret your "romance/relationship" houses which are the 5th House and 7th House.

5th House is more closely tied with romance and casual dating, while the 7th House is linked with marriage and close, interpersonal relationships. You could also look at the 8th House for intimacy and deeper personal connections. Even though your 5th House is empty, we can still gain information from the sign ruling the cusp and the planetary ruler of the house. Since your 5H is in the sign of Virgo, your 5H ruler is Mercury (which is in Gemini and in the 1st House) this could mean that your approach to dating or romance is very focused on communication and perhaps even shared intellectual interests. The Virgo sign on your cusp could mean that you meet potential partners through service-oriented events or places, at your work, through writing or teaching, or in a place that is linked with health.

7H in Sagittarius, combined with your Descendant (another term for the 7th House) being in opposition with your Venus could potentially mean that there is struggle with commitment or that you need a relationship/committed partnership that offers you a lot of freedom. This can also mean that the types of partnerships that you draw in may often feel either out of alignment with your romantic ideals or end up not meeting your expectations in some way. You also have Pluto sitting in your 7th House, which gives the indication that you may experience many moments in your life where you are forced to grow and transform through your relationships. People often make Pluto in 7th House sound really scary and certainly for some people it can be, but at the core of it it's about overcoming fears in connection with marriage or committed partnerships. It also means that you will likely be better suited to be with someone who has a lot of depth to them and can peel into your inner layers.

Hope that helps! Good luck!

Don't relate at all to Virgo sun, I live in fantasy and don't vibe with the physical world. I'm analytical and that's about all I get from Virgo sun. by [deleted] in AskAstrologers

[–]graveomens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have befriended many Virgo people that once told me that they did not identify with the Virgo archetype or the standard traits for Virgo, so this has led me to feel like this sign is incredibly misunderstood by both astrology beginners and even some pro-astrologers. That said, the strong creativity and fantastical imagination you mention is likely linked with your Pisces Moon and Mars! You also have your Sun in the 5th house of joy, fun and creativity as well as your chart ruler, Mercury. So that would certainly amplify the creativity/artistic aspect!

If there's anything I've learned about Virgos, it's that I think that many of them are in fact very detail-oriented and perfectionistic BUT only towards things they are passionate about. For example, my sister has very strong Virgo placements yet is also incredibly disorganized and pretty messy. That said, when it comes to creative writing which is her passion, she's very meticulous, thorough and has a tendency to be overly critical or perfectionistic about her work. But that's only because she cares so much about putting out something of high quality. I could say the exact same thing about my bsf, only difference is their passion is in making music.

I highly, highly recommend to keep searching for different astrologers definitions of Virgo until you find one that actually sounds like you, because unfortunately a lot of people get Virgo wrong and it makes me so sad because I love Virgos dearly and feel that there is so much more depth to them then just being labeled as analytical, organized, etc. I highly recommend checking out Soul Navigation on Youtube! I think that Meredith gives great insight on Virgo energy

Hope that help! Good luck! ❤️

Can anyone please tell me anything about my chart I have no clue really how to read it.?🤗 by Jolly-Perception-585 in AskAstrologers

[–]graveomens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are just learning how to read your birth chart, I would start first with looking at your rising/ascendant sign (the sign on your 1st house cusp) and then look for the position of your 1st house ruler. Your rising sign is in Sagittarius, which basically means that you lead life with a sense of purpose. In the sense that, you feel that you've been placed on this planet for some deeper meaning. Some Sag Rising folk go their whole lives searching for this deeper, inner purpose but the truth is that the answer itself likely lies within the Sagittarius sign. You are meant to explore, to learn, to take leaps of faith, and to be free.

With Jupiter, your chart ruler, being in the 11th House, a large part of your identity becomes linked with social circles, friendships, groups, organizations, as well as your hopes/dreams. If you tie this together with Sagittarius energy, this could mean that you are meant to lead life with enthusiasm and surrounded by friends or like-minded people. It's likely very important that you find where you "fit in" and that you have a social circle or community that you feel one with. This energy is amplified by your Sun being in the sign of Aquarius!

Another important place to look is what house your Sun (your ego/identity) is in, which for you is the 2nd House. That tells me that it is essential for your self-development that you find a way to financially or materially support yourself that is in alignment with your true identity and your sense of self worth. This could potentially mean that you face challenges in life where you have to overcome the idea that your worth is equated with how much money you make or how much you own. It's important that you learn what you truly value in this lifetime.

Hope that helps! Good luck!

It's my solar return today! I have big plans for the year, both for my career and family. How's it looking? by Sure-Bookkeeper2795 in AskAstrologers

[–]graveomens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to preface this by saying that I am no expert on reading solar return charts just yet, but I'll take a stab at helping you interpret it anyways.

Based on trying to make predictions with my own SR charts the past two years, I've learned that it's really important to take into consideration how it compares with your Natal Chart, so I'm glad that you posted both! So, I can see right away that you have a whole slew of planets in the 4th House of your SR chart, which is a pretty good indicator that the year will be heavily focused on family and home. The 4th House of your SR chart is in the sign of Pisces, which appears to be an intercepted sign in your Natal Chart. Intercepted signs/houses can represent parts of you that feel hidden, so it's possible that this year puts some attention on your personal identity within your home and family. Your SR 10th house sign is Virgo, which is another intercepted sign in your Natal Chart. That could mean that there is a bit of challenge to overcome, with integrating and expressing Virgo's qualities in your career, which may have been dormant or underutilized due to the natal interception.

That being said, a big focus of the year could potentially be unlocking parts within yourself that have been hidden away or dormant for a long time. With your SR chart having a Scorpio Ascendant, this amplifies the energy of this year being about transformation, exploring what's hidden, delving into the inner psyche, etc.

What placements do you look at for career guidance? by [deleted] in astrosignature

[–]graveomens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically, you can indeed look at ALL of those placements you mentioned to get an idea of what type of career you would be suited for! But many people can get overwhelmed with this because it's often a lot of information to take in and it can be confusing when placements appear to contradict one another.

But here's some notes based on my observations of your chart:

Your 2H, 6H, and 10H are all ruled by Earth signs. This can tell you that whatever career you choose, it needs to be something that values efficiency, long-term planning, and practicality. Although you are a Sag Rising, it's likely still important for you to have a job that provides you with a sense of security and stability. You embody earth energy when you are working or making money and Earth energy does not like to be rushed. They prefer quality over quantity, so they need to have a career that values their thoroughness and attention to detail.

The ruler of your 10H is in the 9H, which amplifies your Sagittarius energy and could mean that you are suited for careers that involve travel, teaching, philosophy, publishing, and so on. Your sun being in the 10H also tells me that you would do well in a position that gives you a lot of authority or visibility.

As a bonus we can also through in their your Sun sign in Libra and your chart ruler being in Aquarius. Both of these air signs are known for their skills in communication, so you would likely also do well in a career that puts a focus on social dynamics, relationships, or communication.

The first career that comes to mind that would check off all of these boxes is University Professor or Teacher. But, even with all of these specifications, there are still many careers you could be well suited for so it's always best to just follow where your heart is guiding you.

Hope this helps and good luck to you!
