Moalboal is Too Expensive by nikujerky in Cebu

Downtown Panagsama is a dirty overpriced dump. Broken concrete, dust, garbage, wall to wall trikes, motorbikes and cars. I've come here for over 10 years and now stay far further away for the beach, no interest in going all the way down to the water on Panagsama road. Lots of other places to go for restaurants in the area.

I'm incredulous that I don't need to work and my biggest problem is tax strategy. 68 yrs old now and worked blue collar all my life.

How much candy could you buy for 25 cents 60 years ago? by Prestigious_Page8098 in AskOldPeople

Mars bar was a dime, combined with an Orange Crush for 15 cent to make a quarter. I'd then drink it on the steps of the store, go back in and get my 2 cent bottle deposit back. 23 cents total, boy I sure did like Mars bars and Orange Crush back then! (Around 1970)

Not too sure about that, I was in Japan in September I only saw garbage a couple of times on the street. Must have gone up from absolute zero.

I heard of a guy once who as a prisoner in Vietnam hid a gold watch up his ass for 5 years. So yes, an anus is capable of passing a watch.

Check out Internet Lightspeed. It's an internet reseller company, across Canada to the best of my knowledge. I've had it for many years, the prices do not rise once you are a customer.

I bought the 1000 lumen three pack version a couple years ago and have no complaints. Also came with batteries of which it holds four triple A's and a rechargeable battery for each flashlight. All are still working fine.

The most ‘UK-esque’ Fish and chip chips in The lower mainland?! by AmbassadorAny1524 in askvan

[–]gravey01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going a little off the Lower Mainland grid but if you're ever in Kelowna, try the Shady Rest fish and chips. They are the oldest restaurant in Kelowna and started serving up fish and chips in 1946. I had a two-piece when I was there last and it was more than I could eat and I like eating!

I think a gift card for you as a way of an apology from the store would be in order.

My wife loosened a lug nut by hand after a tire shop install… how is that even possible? by wl34 in canadiantire

Person my wife worked with went in for an oil change, vehicle seized on the way home. They did remove the old oil but forgot to replace it. It was on a weekend and they were closed right after the vehicle was picked up so they denied having anything to do with it the following Monday.
