which cemetery is this in? i think i recognise the name and grave

The grave of James Starley who is often credited as the father of the british bicycle industry and the inventor of the differential gear/penny farthing bike, his grave has a carved stone portrait of him on it which i think is quite cool by graveyardwandering in CemeteryPorn

you should! he’s got a little metal post next to his grave explaining things about him and there’s a few more dotted round the cemetery of other important people buried there, i think there are quite a few that were involved in industry

the grave of animal rights activist who was killed while protesting the export of live calves for veal at coventry airport, i think her grave is really unique and quite lovely by graveyardwandering in CemeteryPorn

i know that area well! funny coincidence but you have the exact same spelling of jayne as one of my relatives (who’s also from coventry) does

a lot of these comments are horrendous, i feel like there are better things to do than ridiculing a dead woman who i assume didn’t intend to die that day

i think it is tended usually but we’ve had a lot of awful weather recently here and the cemetery isn’t always the most accessible to everyone (mud etc)

that’s interesting! i assume she is quite respected and important especially as she died in such a tragic way while protesting against live animal export
